+Zoltan Benedek I had this car only for one year but from what I heard it should be reliable and for the engine only oil change every 15 000 - 20 000km is needed.

Fortunately the Czech Republic is around 400 mts above sea level in average.
It's an i-VTEC engine. There's no "hard limit" of vtec being engaged, since it has something like eco-cams and normal cams. iVTEC would engage pretty much while cruising and between 1000-3500rpm, since it's fully electronically controlled, so i guess on this video the more powerful cam profile was engaged for the entire time.

Wow, very great view!!!
Have you got your Civic still now?
@@s.schwarz3974 No, I sold it a long time ago. After civic I had BMW 325xi and than Mercedes CLS 350 CGI - also on my channel.
You should try the Osram Night breaker bulbs. I had it in every car with halogen headlights and the light was nearly as good as xenon headlights.
Rocks
Not bad at all
Is it full stock?
yeah, full stock. Just tanked with 98 octane petrol.
The power of this engine is very good over 4000rpm. Unfortunately I did hit the rev limiter on 2nd and 4th :-(
I own Civic 9g 1.8 but I've never managed such acceleration. The engine still seems to perform best at 4-5.000 revs but it's still nothing exciting. Lots of noise not much of torque. Was the engine tuned down from 8g or what?
Petr K Hello, i think that 9g has longer gears for a better fuel economy and it is around 170kg heavier. Also the newer EURO emission limits ruins the the feel of power from the engine.
i'm gonna buy one with 29000km, maybe the less used in the world for now. Pristine.
živjo pred kratkim se postau lastnik istega avta pa bi imel par vprašanj zate lahko daš mail? hvala
Я не могу понять для чего включен cruise control ????
What is that yellow light on dashboard, every video of Honda have it
Traction control off :-)
..........not bad...........
Is this a vtec engine
Was it 3-door or 5 door harchback? Or maybe sedan??
5 door hatchback
Omg wow
I have fd2 civic, can u tell me from where you got this speedometer.thank
It is original factory speedometer for Civic 8g hatchback. Sedan had a different one.
Which civic is this
Brian O’Connor
Omg almost had a heart attack
09
O16
Total 7 second me 100 km speed
Excuse me, how can I remove the traction control?
There is a button marked VSA on the dashboard.
That's impressing for a 1.8 liter engine. How is fuel economy in the city?
+Zoltan Benedek In Prague traffic I was averaging between 8-9 l/100km.
Wow, that's great! I was thinking to buy a Toyota Corolla or Auris with the 1.6 VVTi engine, but after watching this video, I'm 100% sure that I want one just like yours. Great car
+Zoltan Benedek As Honda said in some advert for 1.8 i-VTEC - It is an engine with power of 2 liter and economy of 1.5.
With my present car - BMW 325xi automatic, I am averaging 12-14 l/100km in Prague traffic.
I heard that i-VTEC engines are very reliable. Is that true? What about service costs?
+Zoltan Benedek I had this car only for one year but from what I heard it should be reliable and for the engine only oil change every 15 000 - 20 000km is needed.
stock?
What car was this exactly?
5 door Civic 2008 Hatchback
@@janmoravec8192 whats your thoughts on the civic type r 2.0 or si 2.0?? Ever got to ride them?
@@blazorb5907 No didnt have the chance :-(
HI,HOW MANY Mts ABOVE SEA LEVEL?
juan gutierrez Hi, i guess that this part of highway is around 200 - 250 Mts above sea level.
Thank you,Im from Mexico and where I live its about 2000-2200 mts above, and this civic needs aprox 13 seconds to reach the 100 k/hr.Its good you are not having problems with altitude
juan gutierrez Wow, didn't expect such a huge difference!
juan gutierrez It is really huge difference. Civic with 1.8 103kw should make 0-100 under 9 seconds according to factory data. I think the highest place where I took it was aroung 700 mts and I didnt feel any difference. But I didnt meassure the 0-100 acceleration :-). Fortunately the Czech Republic is around 400 mts above sea level in average.
juan gutierrez It would be better to have a Supercharged or Turbocharged engine for this altitude.
Hatchback?
nice, still, after i saw the turbo ones with 260 ps accelerating to 200, i'm not that impressed anymore.
Is that the fd2
I had one before ... I'd rather be offered a civic than a ferrari
is it 1.8 sport or luxury or comfort ?
You mean the trim level? It is Sport.
honda shift?
No VTEC kicking in? Or did I miss something.
In this car VTEC doesnt work like in old ones :-(
@@janmoravec8192 in what rev the vtec kick for this kind of model?
It's an i-VTEC engine. There's no "hard limit" of vtec being engaged, since it has something like eco-cams and normal cams.
iVTEC would engage pretty much while cruising and between 1000-3500rpm, since it's fully electronically controlled, so i guess on this video the more powerful cam profile was engaged for the entire time.
@@DSLRwalker wrong, vtec kicked in at 5,000rmp but much smoother than previous engines.
@@nunesandrew4198 read a bit about R18A2 engines, their vtec is completely different:
ruclips.net/video/Px0_6-Btx3Y/видео.html
Their eco-vtec operates between 1000-3500rpm and only when ECU decides when to do so, otherwise its using normal cam profile.
С бугра конечно её только и можно разогнать. И камаз тоже
have you removed the speed limiter? mine won't go above 195kmph(2009 1.8 civic 5d)
Hej żeby nie było tak pięknie to prędkościomierz zawyża o jakieś 6 km wiem bo jeżdżę taka honda

Wheelspin
@@UpshiftNL hmm .TY
where did u got this gauges?
+Rafael Marques It is original Civic 2008 hatchback dashboard without any modifications.
+Jan Moravec i didnt saw this is the hatchback version. here in brazil we have only the sedan version and its different
127mph
Can be faster with a climate control off 😉👍
It automatically cuts off while ECU detects max power required from the engine.
