Earth is less than ideal for life. Our atmosphere is a thick, dense soup of reactive toxins. Earths gravity is at the upper limit of acceptable for complex life. Our star is violent and intensely active with a higher than ideal radiation output. We consume water, the universal solvent, we respirate oxygen and have a body composition that is reminiscent of an Eldritch horror. Our bodies naturally produce an incredibly toxic and addictive stimulant that elevates our physical and mental capacity to science fiction levels. I could go on and on as to why humans are probably going to the most terrifying creatures in the universe.
