what brand of welder and type of it are you using is this a 115 or 220? thanks b4 hands appreciate your answer. I have an arc welder 110 v do you think i can make it?

If you want to avoid the weld splater, a spray bottle filled with soapy water and sprayed on the metal around the weld area will stop the weld splater balls from sticking...I'm an ex boilermaker/welder.
Nice. I've also heard spraying Pam works too?
Yes,it's probably better to use the spray on cooking oil but you end up with an oily surface and it also smokes too not good to breath in smoke all the time!
Clean the surface before spay painting it as the spray won't stick.

Are you using a lincoln arc welder?
no just a mig welder, but you can use a lincoln arc welder
KartFab can you use oxy acetylene ?
yeah, but oxy acetylene isn't the cheapest way to weld. It uses a lot of gas and is kind of hard to do.
KartFab im certified to do both but my arc machine is down i only have my oxy bottles. My job supplies me oxy bottles. I just wanted to ask if it was possible.
yep, its almost a lost skill to oxy/acetylene weld nowdays.

I am going to be building your kart in about 2 weeks. I only have one question though. Let's say your 250lbs how fast would you go. I will be using a 6.5 predator engine. Oh and screw you Aron😀

weight doesnt affect top speed, only how fast you get there. You are looking at about 25-30 mph
if you get the live axle deluxe go kart plans, then you will accellerate faster and have a top speed of 35 mph btw.

I could have, but that's not the thickness of the plate that I used for the floor plan.

Here, read the plans, and then read this, www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/scales/sheetmetal.html Theres a difference between GAUGE and INCHES. Also, you dont go call up a steel yard and tell them you want 1/16" steel, you tell them you want 16 GAUGE sheet metal. because 16 gauge does not equal 1/16"
