Omilienci is an ancient ritual from village Važec which involves women forming a human chain and sing - without any musical instruments - while rhythmically walking. This type of dance is known as chorovod. Chorovod Omilienci is particularly dedicated to the celebration of spring and is unique to the village.

In this case, while some characteristics are shared between German-Austrian and Hungarian music and that of the Slavic nations they ruled, they're still vastly different in the techniques and even instruments used (especially compared to Germans). And of course the exchange went both ways, making the similar elements not necessarily non-slavic.
We need more Slovak music like this, and reject the Germanic polkas that was a cancer on Slovakian heritage. Slavic Slovakia for me, no more western music or clothes thank you!! I’ll wear my big furry hat without that October fest feather or brim and a babushka as well!! No more Pennsylvania Dutch bonnets or German ribbons in the hair or those October fest shirt skirts. I’ll wear a kaftan
Ty si neuvedomuješ, že robíš rusku a rusom medvediu službu? Tvoje debility sú už naozaj neuveriteľne otravné. Doteraz sme boli zvyknutý na mongoloidných maGAYrských primitívnych nomádov, ale že už aj rusi budú drýstať na slovenských videách, tak to sme nečakali.

Polkas were only invented as a way to systematically have Germanic/ Magyar culture take over and replace Slavic culture. Magyars did this to the Slovaks, they tried to Magyarize us. They succeeded in many ways unfortunately. please read history. Slovakia was under austra-hungary for 1,000 years. we never got our own say until 1993. This includes our Rusyn brothers! We now have a voice and we choose to ignore it by carrying traditions that aren't ours.
