Do you include starter cards? How do you actually give out cards to players?? Shuffle all commons and deal out x amount and do same for other rarities to make 1 pack and then do it again until each player has 3 boosters worth or? And how do you handle leaders and bases?
Great questions. I do deal out cards by rarity and separate them again after the draft for storage. Leaders are dealt 1 per pack if we are doing a standard booster draft. I have a pile of bases to the side for players to select after the draft. I have videos answering most of this questions - check my booster construction video in particular. I do include starter cards.
Do you have a full list or spreadsheet somewhere (or just a write up on the cards that have more or less copies than the 1 of each R/L, 2 UC, 2 C you mentioned here? I'm brand new to the idea of a cube and pretty new to TCGs in general but I have a lot of cards so I'd love a baseline to work with to build my own cube so I can get people to draft with me
This is the first TCG that I play where I activly played draft and have no clue about Magic and all its formats. How are you handling the leader distribution and selection in your cube format? How are the "Draft-Packs" assembled? Just mix C, UC and R/L up and pull the needed amount for a pack? (just seen you posted another video about that - will watch that now ;)) What 2-player formats are there to be done with such a cube? Could probably find some of the answers by googling cubes in other TCGs - but since you seem knowledgeable it seems to make sense to ask those questions in special relation to SWU. Thanks for your content. :)
I’ll be doing a video on leader distribution breaking down the math soon. Cliff notes version - I just include 1x each rare, 2x each common, and 1x each of the prerelease promos. The draft format determines how leaders are distributed pre draft. There are many different 2P formats, video coming soon!
I've been able to get about 2 boxes worth of packs. I don't have every rare/legendary. I don't have every uncommon. I may be missing commons too. Could I still build that into a fun starter cube?
Great question. On my list to do a video about that. I include 2x common and 1x rare which gives me 24, enough for an 8 player booster draft. I also include 1x of the prerelease promos for kicks.
One thing that helps is the designers made the game with limited in mind for each set.
My brain is tickled
Great job buddy! Excited to keep talking cube!
Thanks!

We need a list plz!
Coming soon!
Please share source on the box if you could please 👍🏼
I’ll have to do some old fashioned digging on that. It was commissioned by a local woodworker by my brother and given to me as a gift 10ish years ago.
Look up Aaron Cain deck boxes on Facebook!

100%, just try and balance out the aspects as best you can. Don’t feel like you need every card to start. Just fill in as you go.
How do you handle the leaders?
