i have a feeling the "difficult interview" she was referring to was the Japanese porn star. I went back and watched it and Chelsea looked bored/ not into it and one part of it went like "Do you have a favorite director?" "yes." ".....Um do you have any favorite female directors?" "Yes." lol . if it is in fact him it actually would be kinda sad for me because I'm Japanese and was psyched that they were gonna feature japan on the show

I feel like her explanation of the "flat" interview must have been Marc Maron. Apparently they're friends but that interview was cringey and you can tell Chelsea was annoyed/on edge.
