We know they get there in the end. We just have to look at MSA as being a half-baked, half-told story that was canceled in the second act. At least we know Paul accepts himself as a bisexual, and he's willing to try to be in a relationship with a man. Those are two huge steps towards preparing him to be with Bruno. Bruno will be a relationship of love, Axel is a relationship of emotional chaos. Everyone blames Lozano for what happened with the series, which makes sense since he's a showrunner and the writer. Part of me thinks Movi had a much bigger role and how the series unfolded, including sidelining Bruno. It's just unfortunate that the people making the decisions made such terrible choices with the series. It didn't need to be like that.
Wish I could see all the series between these two, most beautiful couple...I want to see the story all the way to final where they are at the school...
I don't think the writers portrayed Bruno very well at all. They could have kept the focus of the show on Pol, but still also show Bruno's character learning, loving, and growing in his own space. Later, as the two have grown and matured they reconnect and come full circle. Honestly, Pol was always a bit promiscuous. Beyond that, it's still about Paul finding himself, accepting his sexuality, experiencing unrequited love, new loves and relationships, and a bit of adversity. It all shapes him into the character we see at the very end of Merli when they're together.
@@carlosvelasquez1805 He chose a teaching profession with few opportunities. He still has to do something to pay rent and put food on the table while he waits his turn. Axel not being at graduation is a subtle way of saying the relationship is over. Based on what we know of Axel, he probably walked away, just as he did from his previous partner. There's no love, no friendship, nothing. There's no other plausible reason why a partner would miss a key milestone like that. Sadly, the chances of seeing a third season are minimal at best. I would set the story where the boys reconciled long ago, after the HIV diagnosis. They've rebuilt their friendship over the years, but at a distance. Bruno's there in the background when Paul graduates. He steps forward when he realizes Axel is gone. Thus starts the next chapter of their story.
For what it was, SA is not a bad series. I appreciated the chance to see Pol grow. That said, it should have gone in a very different direction, more along the lines of Yo, Pol Rubio. There's no need to give Pol HIV. There's no need for Axel. Use writing to develop the characters, not cheap plot mechanics to accelerate Pol's maturity. Get rid of Vicky, her band of cougars, Dino, and the club, then use that screen time to develop Bruno (aka storyline), and give some depth to Pol's friends. Show the characters grow and develop on their own path, then come back together.
In spite of what they did with MSA, the boys do make it in the end. We know that from the first series. We also know it from the story MSA is based on. Just sucks that the people in charge of the show decided the audience didn't deserve to see that final transformation for Pol, and the boys finally coming full circle.
