I don’t mind the “Sm packaging” (summer magic normal, ice cream cake type etc.) but I freaking HATE jewel case but my favorite RV albums are in jewel cases so I might get them 🤡 The only good thing of the “ peek a boo packaging” is that I feel that the photo book is thicker
The peekaboo photobook is beautiful!! I’m so happy SM finally decided to give them better packaging but am salty that they gave so many Velvet releases the jewelcase treatment lol.
Book style packaging is my absolute favorite. Seventeen’s AL1 & Teen, age are probably my favorite examples of that. Dreamcatcher albums are my favorite packaging wise, but that’s definitely more because how pretty they are. I think everyone universally agrees that jewel case albums are literally the worst lol
If I had a nickel for every time I had to buy a random cd at thrift store in order to transplant the contents of a broken jewel case into its unbroken jewel case, I would have enough nickels to buy a used cd from the thrift store.
I HATE envelope packaging so much! It's not only hard to store, but it ends up looking a little off no matter how you store it. I especially hate NCT127's regular/irregular album, since the CD is just in a flimsy little sleeve. I'm so scared to move that album at all, because I have this fear that somehow the CD will just end up snapping in half... And Seventeen's an Ode breaks my heart, because it SHOULD be so pretty... but then they stuck it in an envelope. I can understand why they did it, since it came with so many extras, but it still makes me sad. The only saving grace they have, in comparison to NCT127's, is the fact that the photobook/where the CD is seems a little bit more protected, and (like I already said) the envelope seems to serve more of a purpose.
I sometimes hate book packaging cus i have like 2 of BTOB's albums (namely brother act/hour moment and i can tell u the first time i opened brother act the sound of the book spine opening was so horrible and i could see the glue also
Ohhhhh no, I definitely know the pain of that!! When they make the crunchy sound because the binding is coming off and you’re just trying not to break the album. 😩
I love book stile packaging I have day6 last 2 albums and there both book stile packaging I also really like Mamamoos packaging there all the exact same size and you can stack them nicely and it looks so aesthetic
Wow twice feel so special is so beautiful.. i like box packaging or hard cover album btw.. i have bts persona its so hard to open the photobook and i broke 2 pages :(
I do like book packaging but there are times where I'm kinda sick of it and want something a little different. Dreamcatcher's albums (minus Alone in the City and Raid of Dream) do interesting things with their packaging while still being able to be storable. Same with Chungha, all of her albums could be considered book packaging but there are at least interesting design elements that keep it fresh. I love the outer design of NCT 127's Superhuman album and that's what makes it interesting to me. Box packaging is great too but sometimes it's a little hard to get into albums. I know some people had trouble opening Ateez's recent full album and struggled to get it open. Sometimes the boxes are overly big or chunky for no real reason which sucks. Paperback albums can be good if done right; they have to have some sort of sturdiness to them so they don't get damaged. Taeyeon's Purpose album is a good example of that. Jewel cases will always be the worst packaging because of how fragile they are. If it's an album with an interesting design or attempt at a design, I do give the company props for trying something new even if it's something I don't like or complain about lol. I feel so bad for your Act 7 album. Mine came pretty beat up but yours looks like it went through so much to get to you. I had the same problem with my Volume Up album too. It is way too fragile.
Oh my god the Ateez album was SUCH a struggle!! I was like... trying to gently shake it back and forth to try to get it loose because it was so tight that I was afraid I would tear the outbox trying to get it open. 😩 I had much less of an issue with TXT’s album which is similarly packaged so I’m not sure if it’s just the Ateez album has a tighter fit or something but oh my god it was stressful!! I love Act 7 so much but oh my god the packaging. 😩 Strangely I didn’t have too many issues with my secondhand Volume Up album but I wish that companies would invest in more durable packaging because the design of an album means nothing if it comes to your house looking like it lost a fight lol.
@@MegRCollections totally! I appreciate avant garde packaging but at least try and make it durable. Like Seventeen's latest album. I love the idea of it but the material of the album itself should have been more durable and had a different way of opening it. My poor Volume Up album is crushed on both bottom corners 😔
Honestly paper type packaging is the worst for me because my room has damp in it. I was almost heartbroken when I found out the SEVENTEEN An Ode was packaged the way it was but then it came in a plastic cellophane I was over the moon! My favourite type of packaging is the book type like NCT 127's Superhuman or BTS's You Never Walk Alone. It's small and durable with beautiful pictures 😀 Btw, we were talking about puppies yesterday. Your maltese chihuahua sounds so cute! Mine's a cairn terrier, she is so much trouble but she's so cute she gets away with it all! A video on your favourite photobooks would be so cool 🥰🥰🥰
I was SO nervous about Seventeen’s album but the sticker on the envelope of my album was luckily really easy to get off and that it came in the cellophane made me feel better - but I hope this doesn’t become a trend or I’ll cry lol. Oh my god your puppy sounds adorable!!! They get away with anything, they’re cute and they know it. 😩
Hi. I love your video & albums ❤️ Regarding to the damaged album with dents that you have showed from your video, did you just keep it as your collection or did you buy another copy of the same album the one that was damaged and replace the damaged one into good quality/condition (no damage and no dents)? I'm a new kpop fan collector and the albums I bought has dents in the album cover usually known as bumped covers and also some of my albums in which the spine part, it will almost torn apart. Until now it really bothers me, frustrating and of course still feeling sad everytime I watched and saw them with damages & dents in my collection. 😥 I'm so stressed 'coz it's my first time and first albums to buy & collect (them) and I'm not really satisfied with the qualities/condition of the albums especially the outer packaging (the cover) and 2nd the inner part (pages/paper of the album) I've got now hehe. Is it really normal & natural that sometimes we may bought & received kpop albums with damages & dents? Should we really accept this kind of situation in our collection? May I ask your help if what would be your suggestions so that I could be able to solve this matter 🙂 Thank you 😊❤️
Hi!! I usually keep my albums even if they have small dents or damages unless the damage is really really bad and then I might buy an extra copy - but for the most part I’m okay with the little dents! I’ve found that some of the albums are more prone to being damaged than others, like cardboard packaging or if there’s not a lot of bubble wrap protection sometimes the corners of albums especially can get dents and things in them if they’re hardcover. I don’t think it’s a bad thing if you want to replace your album though! Unfortunately I think a lot of the little damages are done in transit from where the album originated from to your home, so those things can’t really be helped too much, but if it’s a lot of damage and you want to buy a new copy I think that’s totally okay!
@@MegRCollections Ah ok I see 🙂 Maybe there's no perfect quality sometimes from the manufacturing of kpop albums plus it depends upon the courier how they will handle it our albums to be shipped to our address. I've decided and said to myself that upon receiving my albums after being shipped and arrived in my address with little dents but it's not damage and in good condition/quality, I should probably accept it hehe 'coz we cannot avoid this kind of situation sometimes and I think some kpop fans already accepted & considered this as normal to them. If ever I already have extra budget to replace the damage ones, so my option is to buy an extra copy while keeping the damage one from my previous purchase/order 😊
2:04 I also really like this packaging, but the photobook pages are glued together and I hate it so much because one of the pages of my Summer Nights album came off😣
One tip for the shinee album, you could maybe try to slip the last one in the middle instead in front since there's the thing in front. Anyways I really love your video!!!
Hmmm ... nice nice ... Hmmmm.... I CAN'T EVEN GIVE MY OPINION.... cause I am only 14 and I don't have any album 😥... can anyone gimme LY:HER cause DNA was my first MV of BTS
Im a btob fan. But idk i dont really like cube when it comes to album design. Mostly of btob albums are difficult to open and manage. Like Yook Sungjae album and This Is Us album 😪 but Im Hyunsik solo album IS THE BEST BTOB ALBUM SO FAR. Fight me.
@@yoongis_garden It is extremely hard to open. Specifically the Alone in the City album. I ripped mine by accident trying to open it. I heard it's the same thing with the normal version of Raid of Dream.

I hate the normal version of Raid of Dream, it doesn’t even have a slip cover like the past two releases, got bent real easy. At least the Limited has a sturdier box. Also the little standee that comes in the Limited is wayyy flimsy, front bent too easy. Ended up just buying a second set. Oh well, got more photocards at least.

Same I got red velvet the red album a month ago and broke it the first time I opened it it’s so frustrating
nct limitless tops the list of packaging i can't stand
Now I’m a little scared to get it LOL
It's so sad because that's my favorite album from them too:(((

Rosie Brundred At least you Get a lot of goodies with it. That’s the Only reason why I’m getting it, lol

I don't even know why they did the glued binding for Brother Act. The albums that came before and after it had a sewn binding.
Sm needs to work on the design of red velvet’s albums
