Hey! by the way there are many of us in more rural and remote places who have endured all these years the innovations, the silliness at mass the emptying churches. The only Catholic Church in my town now has nearly 5:1 Spanish to English speaking masses and attendance. It FASTED from holy water during lent, we have holy water dispensers, like hand sanitizer, or the fonts are covered up, not to be in use. We applaud several times during mass for the musicians, performances, birthdays, anniversaries flashing lights on our lady’s statues. We are segregated by them and us. Spanish speaking Mexicans to white English speaking. Just told we, whites had a limited time to get a statue project the priest wants done because he’s tired of asking the Mexicans to complete the projects.
No, seems the Spanish speaking are the only ones he’s asked to complete his projects and do ‘a magnificent job’, so he’s asking the English speakers to do something. My thoughts? Stop with the us and them, have everyone as a parish complete projects together. But, nah, we can’t have that because they don’t speak English and the the Spanish segregate themselves creating two different spaces. The priest is mainly Spanish speaking so very special place in his heart for THEM. They pick our crops, olant our tree, all that stuff.

We're going to have a very divided country with their segregative ways. Of course, I attend the SSPX, so Latin Mass, so they haven't been able to dominate, since they are still a minority there and many other ethnicities are present, all the rest who do integrate. However, I do notice distinct cultural behavior from the Hispanics that I have not noticed from others, which they also seem to fail to notice is not acceptable with the rest of us.
To be further understanding Spanish Catholics do not want to go the way of assimilated parishes. They have certain traditions and feasts that would get lost in translation. Many modern Catholics do not even know the basic tenants of the faith let alone follow them. I say bring back the Latin mass and get rid of vernacular bipartisanship.

Attended mass last weekend and a homeless man roamed throughout church during mass. He went up and took the host at communion, walked away, proceeded to rip it up and then threw it over his shoulder like confetti. One of the Eucharist ministers noticed, picked up the pieces of host, but that man continued in the church until he left at the end. There was nothing made of the host shredded and thrown away nor the man doing it. He could have done what happened in Australia and attendees, ushers or the priest would have payed any attention. I was devastated.

I have to say that I was introduced to “falling asleep in the spirit”during conferences at Franciscan university-and by the same priest who brought tradition back to our church. No we didn’t have TLM every week but we did have it occasionally (he didn’t know how to say it) but his reverence in saying the NO mass was beautiful and brought us all back to the faith. NO is not all bad and I don’t want to disparage it when it can and should said with reverence. Agree on not having Tradition when I was growing up-I’m probably your age.

This weekend I went to my great nieces first communion. Not a single second grader took Communion on the tongue. I was the only person who genuflected and took our Lord on the tongue. So sad. It was like a big town hall meeting and the pastor acted like it was a big entertainment. So sad!!!

Hey! by the way there are many of us in more rural and remote places who have endured all these years the innovations, the silliness at mass the emptying churches. But we attended the novus ordo had no opportunity to enjoy the old Latin mass except perhaps on rare occasions. Jesus was there for us nonetheless at the consecration. Add us to the increasing number of Catholics who are ready to embrace a restoration of reverence and dare I say common sense and taste to our liturgy. God is working miracles in our midst.

To sum it up, the Pope is a piece of work and yet there are many including priests who think he is great? There is one priest in particular who keep saying, give him the benefit of the doubt. What do such people think we have been doing these past 11 years? Since I am a climate change denier, an antivaxxer, and don't suffer from same sex attraction, Francis just doesn't speak to me. Maybe the ones who think he is the best thing since slice bread do believe in these things. In spite of it all, I will continue to pray for him, Lord knows he needs it.

The only Catholic Church in my town now has nearly 5:1 Spanish to English speaking masses and attendance. It FASTED from holy water during lent, we have holy water dispensers, like hand sanitizer, or the fonts are covered up, not to be in use. We applaud several times during mass for the musicians, performances, birthdays, anniversaries flashing lights on our lady’s statues. We are segregated by them and us. Spanish speaking Mexicans to white English speaking. Just told we, whites had a limited time to get a statue project the priest wants done because he’s tired of asking the Mexicans to complete the projects.

No, seems the Spanish speaking are the only ones he’s asked to complete his projects and do ‘a magnificent job’, so he’s asking the English speakers to do something. My thoughts? Stop with the us and them, have everyone as a parish complete projects together. But, nah, we can’t have that because they don’t speak English and the the Spanish segregate themselves creating two different spaces. The priest is mainly Spanish speaking so very special place in his heart for THEM. They pick our crops, olant our tree, all that stuff.
@user-ho9gg7iz8f Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I've found they do maintain that separation. They come here but do not integrate, acculturate. Then they do prefer their own. I'm not a fan. We're going to have a very divided country with their segregative ways.
Of course, I attend the SSPX, so Latin Mass, so they haven't been able to dominate, since they are still a minority there and many other ethnicities are present, all the rest who do integrate. However, I do notice distinct cultural behavior from the Hispanics that I have not noticed from others, which they also seem to fail to notice is not acceptable with the rest of us.
To be further understanding Spanish Catholics do not want to go the way of assimilated parishes. They have certain traditions and feasts that would get lost in translation. Many modern Catholics do not even know the basic tenants of the faith let alone follow them. I say bring back the Latin mass and get rid of vernacular bipartisanship.

I don't have access to Latin mass here in Australia and I can't bring my self to go to the local parish. I have been before but feelsl like a protestant gathering where no one really believes the real presence of Christ is in the Eucharistic, not even the priest. He hands it out like lollies.

As a non-Christian, I may have got this wrong, but I thought the Romans were against crucifying Jesus, but were forced into doing so by the usual suspects.
The Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate, was *manipulated* by the Jewish Temple leaders.... because Pilate was a coward. Pilate had Our Savior scourged and crucified... even though Pilate KNEW Jesus was innocent and stated that publicly.
You're sort of right. Pontius Pilate, the Roman Procurator, leaned towards letting Christ go free because he found no guilt in Jesus. But those who arrested Jesus perpetually insisted He be Crucified, so Pilate gave in by handing Jesus over to the Romans.

Well for starters, one of the local parishes in my rural area has a high Hispanic rate, and the parish allowed them to have Aztec Dancers perform their ritual dances inside the church, before the alter. I saw the pictures posted on the parish website.

Attended mass last weekend and a homeless man roamed throughout church during mass. He went up and took the host at communion, walked away, proceeded to rip it up and then threw it over his shoulder like confetti. One of the Eucharist ministers noticed, picked up the pieces of host, but that man continued in the church until he left at the end. There was nothing made of the host shredded and thrown away nor the man doing it. He could have done what happened in Australia and attendees, ushers or the priest would have payed any attention. I was devastated.

Catholic parishes need to select or hire, for every Mass, a Sergeant-at-Arms, to protect the priest, the laity and the Blessed Sacrament.

I have to say that I was introduced to “falling asleep in the spirit”during conferences at Franciscan university-and by the same priest who brought tradition back to our church. No we didn’t have TLM every week but we did have it occasionally (he didn’t know how to say it) but his reverence in saying the NO mass was beautiful and brought us all back to the faith. NO is not all bad and I don’t want to disparage it when it can and should said with reverence.
