- 28 जून को ईरान में राष्ट्रपति पद के लिए चुनाव होने वाले हैं. पिछले महीने हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में राष्ट्रपति इब्राहिम रईसी की मौत के बाद, चुनाव तय वक़्त से एक साल पहले हो रहे हैं.
ईरान का संविधान कहता है कि राष्ट्रपति की मौत के 50 दिन के अंदर नए राष्ट्रपति का चुनाव हो जाना चाहिए. ऐसे में पार्टियों के पास इस पद के लिए अपने उम्मीदवार उतारने के लिए ज्यादा समय नहीं बचा है. इस चुनाव में ताकतवर रूढ़िवादी गुटों ने अपने उम्मीदवार उतारे हैं.
