Perfect example of how to not use destroyers. First. Xenon capital ships hardcounter other capital ships. So using destroyers against them is a very bad idea to begin with. Second. Wrong fit. The oddies are not properly equipped for fights against other capital ships. Especially not one that hardcounters them. Try equipping a full load of heavy dumbfire missiles on every turret. That should even the odds.
Dumbfire missile turrets are slower and deal less damage, and while their range is slightly longer, I don’t think it justifies the cost of resupplying them. Opting for a low attention combat seems like an easier solution.
@@flywlyx7854 yes, very slightly less dps. 960 dps on the dumbfires vs 1057 on the PAR L Plasma. Thing is, you can mount them on medium turrets. So you can turn M turrets into essentially L Plasma turrets with missiles. 16x 960dps is a lot more damage output than 4x 1057dps. Reloading such a ship is also not a issue. An oddy like that can carry 1720 missiles, which is a total of 7.430.400 in storage with heavy dumbfire mk2. Thats enough to destroy 20 Xenon K. Lets adjust for misses and say half of that. So enough effective damage stored to destroy 10 Xenon K. If you somehow manage to run out of ammo before the big boats are dealt with, especially with multiple such destroyers... then you get a medal As for the cost, its a non-issue. Dumbfire missiles are dirt cheap to buy and build. If you got Tides of Avarice, missiles are basically free. You can build them from just Energy Cells. Which is perfectly balanced and not overpowered at all. Seriously, try it. Full missile destroyers go pretty hard sgainst xenon big boats. Same scenario, all heavy dumbfire, the K will just die before it can do anything of note.
Yikes! What was the demonstration supposed to be? How to shred two destroyers inside graviton turret range while using no maneuvers at all? What is the 7.5 relevance here? I am confused. Glad your spacesuit is operational, at least until that K and its buddies vaporize you, too! 😉
