as a disabled person and wheelchair user who's been asking for disability rep in the sims for yearsss this made me so happy. for such a great cause too
This is so lovely. I basically lived at gosh from 6-14 due to my chronic illness. My family and I often stayed in the hospital hotel for long periods of time, so seeing this makes me tear up a little. Great Ormond Street is such a wonderful hospital and they really put the effort and care in for not only the patients, but their families also. I’m very grateful for them. And thank you Jessica for this video, you’re such a wonderful soul and you always put heart into your builds!🧡
Oh Jessica ❤️ I've been watching you on and off for years, which is why I'm so glad I clicked on this video. I'm more than happy to put my $ behind a creator with integrity. Your builds always inspire me and your care is evident. We need more people like you in the world
I'm not British - hell, I don't even live in the UK - but I've half a mind to donate. It's a noble cause and you did a great thing campaigning for it. Kudos Jessica !
Paranormal stuff 💜. Love that you’re doing this for Great Ormond Street. I’m in a wheelchair myself and appreciate the inclusivity of the build. Keep up the great work !
Do you how fast i would buy merch from you! I think you should consider! could you imagine a hoodie or cute lil tote bag with “either way besides the point moving on” 🥰🥰😂😂
Thank you for this. I stayed in a little bedsit flat at hospital with my mum when my dad was really sick, and the fact that someone somewhere donated to buy tea/coffee, milk, cereal and bread, to keep the flats stocked, was so nice. I dunno who was buying the cornflakes back in 2002 but it was real nice of them to think about the basic stuff for us when we were busy with bigger stuff. I think a lot of hospitals have some accommodation, especially for EOL care patients' families and if they live far away, but obviously with GOSH it's more pressing because kids need their families more than adult patients, and because many families will be travelling a lot further for the highly specialised care there.
Dream Home Decorator 💜 So glad to see representation in your builds! As a disabled person myself I think the sims has a loooooong way to go, but I’m glad there are advocates out there!
Paranormal stuff 💜 Love that youre doing this fundraiser! My sister was sick and also in a similar hospital here in germany so thank you for spreading the information!
I used to work for a non-profit in the US which does the same thing for families of Veterans and active duty military. I can affirm the gift comfort homes like this provide for families and their patients. It's holy work. Will donate to GOSH as soon as the video ends. Thanks for doing this, Jessica. You have a good heart. ❤
Would love to get Cottage Living 💜 What GOSH is doing is so important! As a medical student I know just how important it is to have someone that loves you by your side while healing. And I also know first hand how stressful and worrying is to have a sick family member at the hospital far away from you, I can’t even begin to imagine how much worse it must be for parents of little kids. Thanks for doing this🫶🏻
This build is so beautiful, and so well thought out. I think you've done an amazing job and can tell you put tons of thought into how it can be used by the families. Such a great cause and its very cool to see something built in the sims for the charity. Thanks for raising awareness and also making such an incredible build. ❤
This is incredible, Jess! I love the accessibility, the message is great, the build is gorgeous, and thank you for using your platform to bring awareness to wonderful causes like this!
LOVE the story behind your build. I think that's great and will be glad to donate :) At one point I was a single mama and was running out of money. I had maxed a credit card just to pay bills. Thankfully things fell into place, but I wouldn't have known what to do. Thankfully places like this exist!
it’s so awesome to watch this and know how important it is to the families IRL who need it, but also be able to enjoy it as your usual content. i feel so happy giving my money to an amazing cause like this one and im so happy you brought this organization to our attention! you’re so close to your donation goal❤ i hope you hit it!!
This build is absolutely amazing! Honestly I’ve sort of given up hope on seeing representation for physical disabilities in the sims 4, though I’m hoping it’s better in the sims 5. My one wish for this game though would be that the sims team would actually make the elevators functional, even if there is no animation for them. It’s been bugging me especially now that we can build our own apartments, they almost feel like a necessity now. Not only would they add a bit of realism but gameplay wise they would be super convenient too. I just hope that the sims team is thinking these things through for the next iteration
In the US, the Ronald McDonald houses are similar to this home. My niece and family stay in one when she gets treatment for her hemophilia. This is an awesome cause, and makes me appreciate you as a creator even more.
most of the money from the rm houses go to funnelling money into mconalds evading taxes. we have it here too but it has been made obsolete basically since its super seedy.
I've been watching your channel for at least a year now and in that year I've improved my building skills in the sims and I've even manage to get my younger sister and my mum into the sims 4. my mum is disabled and feel like most places we've been haven't been wheelchair assessable.💜
For someone who works for and with people that have special needs this build warms my heart! Thank you to give them a little attention throughout this build. I would love to “win” the Horse Rance pack to make my little dream of having a horse come true 😊💜
Dream Home Decorator 💜 I love when you do apartment buildings I think they are my favorite! I enjoy seeing all the different spaces and rooms with different themes and ideas and how they all link to one another 😌💓
I know it’s cheaper for EA to just add rainbow flags and pronoun options to make the game “more inclusive”, but true inclusion would be having ramps, wheelchairs, even walking sticks…
Both of those are inclusive. Two things can be true at once. There's no reason to dog one in favor of another when both should be added to any life simulator. You know people can be disabled and a part of the LGBT community, right?
@@haunted-but-holy i think they mean it’s easier to code in flags or pronoun options, but having disability aids would require EA to structurally reformat the game and they would never. both are definitely inclusive ofc!
@@sheree._.agreed, but they’re not going to do that this late in the game regardless, I reckon they will in the sims 5, especially if they’re involved in videos like this and their creator has to spend half an hour trying to make a wheelchair… it’s not a good look at all.
If I couldn’t love your channel anymore, you upload this video ❤️ Not necessarily this charity and hospital but our family have required these types of charities to help and support the kids and so thank you for being part of this cause x
Cottage Living 💜 Amazing build Jessica! you always inspire me and i really enjoy with all ur videos, i learn so much from you about how to build things in the sims 4 until now, since i found your channel maybe like 2 years ago, ngl i'm really in love w all your builds since then 🤭 i'm not joking my build skill literally helped and even better because of you, and ah i can't say to you to say thank you so much. ❤️ Ps: the creativity of you on the wheel chair is insane!
Omg, this build is so beautiful, to be honest itsorta looks like my apartment 🤭. The pack that I like is the Cottage Living Pack because I love that cottage core aesthetic and I was thinking of purchasing it. 💜💜💜💜
I would absolutely love to get to play with cottage living again💜💜, I had a couple expansions and game packs on my xbox but my xbox doesnt work anymore and since the sims 4 can’t transfer from console to other devices, I now have the base game on my laptop and a few stuff packs we got for free…
As a wheelchair user, the idea behind this video makes me happy. Sadly, the apartments themselves would not be very accessible. Neither would the parking lot, as the cars are too close together to get a wheelchair out.
Dream home decorator 💜. I love ur videos and if i can i would make a donation but me and my family are struggling a little bit with money. I love this fundraiser that ur doing it’s gonna help many people in need and evryone is really grateful. Keep on being the mastermind of these amazing videos and builds!

I did not just watch you build a wheelchair from random bits in the Sims 4... You truly are talented!

GOSH reminds me of St Jude’s here in the States. I love love love this build and it’s inclusivity!! Keep up the wonderful work ❤
Never been this early to a build. The thumbnail was gorgeous 😍 can't wait to hear the story behind it.
Do you how fast i would buy merch from you! I think you should consider! could you imagine a hoodie or cute lil tote bag with “either way besides the point moving on” 🥰🥰😂😂
i've been thinking of this too!! would absolutely purchase immediately

Amazing how you do these builds, you think more about the inclusivity of life in a life simulation game than the actual makers do 😊
