2005 Chevy Corvette - Refinishing C6 ZR1 Brake Calipers

- In today's video - I use left over parts from the Silverado ZR2 - and decide to use the ZR1 brakes on the Corvette. I had a set of front calipers that needed to be refinished - and go though the paint process on them.
The rears - I bought new and had shipped to @latemodelthrottlellc9474 to machine them to fit a set of 17" drag wheels. I then refinished the rear calipers as well.
I was able to finish off both sets of calipers with new Corvette logo decals from @GEARHEADdezign

Good thing about small paint projects... if it screws up you can fix it.... as long as you persevere. I learned a lot about painting from my small projects but I leave the big ones to the pros😅. Good job. They look sweet
The clear coat screw up was kind of a blessing - it forced me to redo the bad tape off/paint not matching job.
I painted my entire truck bed 2 years ago - but this ended up being way harder!
Yeah the file you sent was raster, so I had to recreate it in vector format. Came out looking really sweet with the clear. That'll be on my list for the C6 Z51 fronts with my modified CAMARO logo.

It's kinda bugging me you didn't powder coat on such nice calibers, but good job on the paint looks great.
No one had the proper decals to send them off - get the powdercoated, the decals added, then a clear layer coated on top.
So at that point I am either clear coating it myself - or do the whole job myself.
Plus I painted the big brake kit on my truck - and no issues so far.
@bonecrrusherSS it'll be fine. I've painted some when i was young. I never had an issue, and I never put half as much effort into it as you did. Now, I usually disassemble, have them coated locally, reassemble, and order vinyl stickers online for decals. Well, on other people's cars. On mine, I usually go CTS V with the oem silver and just leave the factory finish. You didn't have that option with their condition.
Boner and Woody, collaborating together for great success. Calipers turned out nice!
That's a lot of 🍆
