It's not it's original name. "The song was written by Craig Conner, one of Rockstar's in-house musicians, and is a stereotype of 'gangsta rap', with blatant lyrics concerning (appropriately) car theft, drug use, running from the law and the possession and use of firearms. Conner also played all of the instruments in the song. The track first appears in Grand Theft Auto, where it is credited to the fictitious band Da Shootaz, fronted by rapper Robert DeNegro (an obvious pun on actor Robert De Niro, who starred in many of the gangster films that have been cited as inspiration for the GTA games)"

I'll never forget that demo disc. ten minutes of GTA, all I needed to love it. Let's go for a joyride!
Aqui é o início da franquia que revolucionou os jogos para sempre, simplesmente lendário.
Classic song here. This would definitely fit well for a final mission theme. Especially when they make GTA VI
This game started the best franchise ever
“Look we have this new game coming out and we need a track, doesn’t need to be anything crazy….”
Drops this banger
this song is awesome and so is the game because... oh wait... is that... the trump tower in the background? I literally just noticed that.
yes it is.
yes it is u dumb fuck
+Muddafuckin Blue Pikmin stfu why you hating you fucking 10 year old.
no, i was saying you dumb fuck to elvin, he is the real dumb fuck. oh yeah, and im not ten, my name is a reference to one of attacking tucans lets-plays. he is very... rude. so it must mean i'm 15. even though i'm really 12.
It's kinda a catchy song but yeah your right
This is a perfect song for every single GTA game from then to now...
But most fitting i would say would be for GTA Online.
good shot kid you got him
this is one of the best gta songs
"Good shot kid, I think you got him" and the rest is history
I wish this song is in every GTA radio
for some reasons i find 80s-90s music so epic although i wasn't born in the age but i can feel what it's like by listen to them songs
Because everything went to shit in usa once 9/11 happened. they pushed control and conformity. everyone looks like a clone now. same phone, same everything.
I remember using the Game CD in my Audioplayer and was suprised you can play it like a soundtrack album!
Ye i remember that feeling too good times man
The most slept on theme in the whole series, yet it’s the hardest.. absolutely baffling
Do I hear "Big Shaq here, he got 'em" at the beginning? LOL. Anyway - this song is also played on GTA III radio.
I hear "Big shot here, we got 'em."
Also as far as I know one of ringtones in GTA IV is based on this too.
Good shot kid, think you got 'em
Still remember the lyrics after all this time. 42 years old and now sit watching my son playing GTA V. This is history.
This game came out 18 years ago today!
holy crap 18 year it's now allowed to play GTA
+Shoreside SA hahahhahaha
Yupe they may be some sort of a connection between the 18 years and having to be 18 to play.
fenix182 I remember the first time I played it. loved it
GTA
HUAK
Not gonna lie this theme is fire 🔥
The theme is better
Who's also listening to this after seeing the GTA 6 trailer
Is that Trump tower?
Yes
No it's another penis building like every other building in the series.
unfortunally yes
BirdzBlack wahhh
fucc ye
I started playing GTA 1997، And I'm still playing it . Warm greetings to the old players
This song needs to be in GTA 6
Oh man this takes me back.
each car genre had its own genre specific radio channel (with sooo good music) runnin + when drivin over a pedestrian with left sided wheels, then only left sided skidmarks gets red + whole cities to discover + amount of cars + gangs + institutions, all good features already in gta1, it blasted me away in 97, and it still does
I'm surprised how after 11 years, uploader did not add actual song title. Song name is "Da Shootaz - Joyride"
Remember buying GTA in 1997 now the best game ever made in nearly 40 and still play it.. My son even loves GTA
Remember buying this game when it was released after playing the demo from one of the psx mags. Still a great tune all these years later
When I play gta III and this song comes on, sometimes I like to think of the lyrics as Claude's backstory
This theme is one of my best favorite themes of all gta series.
Fun fact, that's actually Trump Tower on the cover.
Hotel, downtown, speeding all around
An AK-47 got the power in it's barrels
To move any mother that gets in my way,
Just another power machine on the freeway
Riding with me is my mc homeboy
Knowing the rules ain't part of his program
Finding tha right way around this map
Might be pretty hard 'cause he's fucked on crack
G-grand theft auto
You gotta make a mark to move where you want to
T-theft
Determination to steal what you can and run from the nation
A-hey, what do ya say?
We automate the sequence and speed for my getaway
Ticket to the edge is nowhere to hide,
And call up the boy. let's go for a joyride [x2]
Stop tha violence from the police
You know my dad used to say but now he's deceased
He got caught in a jam, threw in the can
When the cops from brooklyn said he killed another man
Seek knowledge was my main game
To figure out the the law, to figure out the frame
Just when i thought i knew justice
A cop behind me said "you just been busted"
Nypd (nypd)
Lapd (lapd)
Sfpd (sfpd)
Don't fuck with me.
This song is heroine for my ears. I can't stop listening to it. It's so cool, even after 20 years!
Such a old and forggoten game.. Its legacy never got forgotten though. Great game Rockstar.
This fits literally every GTA game
This sound was introduced in GTA 3 as a message tone, and then for the GTA north in GTA vice city introduction and then in GTA 4 as a ringtone... Nostalgic :')
This takes me back to being an early teen. Before the days the internet was as resourceful as today when you had to swap knowledge with your friends of hidden locations of monster trucks and rc cars, and the excitement when you came across that epic blue beast with the double white stripe IYKYK.
