Awesome of ewheels to help you out. Sad of Leaperkims lack of support. Thanks for sharing your experience. Hope your wheel gets back on the street one day soon mate. 😎🤙
Damn! I'm actually surprised it was damaged so bad. I've had 2 high speed crashes, but only broke the handles on front and back after a few summersaults on the pavement. Of course mine didn't hit a boulder face on, during a 1000 foot drop either! Ewheels has the best service I've ever experienced from anyone! They replaced my handles even though it was my fault, and their shipping is as cheap as possible. If I wanna sell my wheel, I can ship it anywhere in the USA for $150, using a label from them!
I think it's all about the angle of impact. In high-speed crashes, the direction of movement is usually at a low angle, almost parallel to the ground. In contrast, when an object falls, it moves at an angle close to 90 degrees, going down vertically. This vertical impact can be as bad as smashing a wheel into a cement wall at full speed, because in both cases, the force is concentrated in a single direction.
Can I ask where were you riding? It sure looks like Kelowna, I was just in penticton riding the KVR and three blind mice also on a lynx. Beautiful country.
Sorry about the unfortunate incident, wish you good luck in repairing the wheel. It's getting expensive now with the new wheels maintenance wise, back in the day, $500 would have sorted out most issues.
I'm curious. Did you contact Eevees, and did Eevees show no interest in helping you; they seem reputable? Regarding eWheels and Jason McNeil, simply awesome!!! Also, I'm glad you are safe and I appreciate your views on tethering. ~maverick
No, I did not. This wasn't a warranty case for obvious reasons and afaik, eWheels is much better for customer service, and Eevees is going through some difficulties rn. I saw an example of how it works with eevees, and I didn't bother as I value my time the most.
@leoenin Thank you, that's good information to know about Eevees. That L was so beautiful, and I'm anxiously waiting to see it repaired and you doing more content. Be well and be safe. ~maverick
@@leoenin damn, thats the same I used, but it took too much work to split it and the corners would start to deglue if the surface wasn't perfectly cleaned. Thanks
