I miss this ride. It was nice, slow and we had a chance to rest our feet.

I miss that Tomorrowland: fun, energetic, hopeful, active, full of life. Today, it's dull.

So much win and nostalgia in this video. Seeing one of the Mary Blair murals again brought a tear to my eye, and back to my childhood in the 70's growing up in Anaheim. Thanks for posting.

Blessed be the Disneyland of pre-Eisner. I stopped going to Disneyland when they took out the Peoplemover. Disneyland will never be the same as in its silver anniversary years, circa 1980.

The disney parks fell apart after 1993 things went from bad to worse buget cuts everywhere and refurbishments that dulled the expirience vastly. The parks haven't recovered since '93 and IP's have polluted them especially in the U.S. and toykyo

Such a shame this closed, added so much kinetic energy to Tomorrowland that's no longer there, plus the fact that there was hardly ever a line because of it's enormous capacity.

The sky rockets are scarier - more thrilling - when they were up there on the Apollo-type rocket. Now that they're lower It's like a 'meh' experience. I'm old enough to remember Disneyland since 1971... and especially in the 1990s!

First, the old PeopleMover broke down at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA on Monday, August 21, 1995.
After the completion of Star Wars Land in 2019, around 2021-2023 in the same above ground platform as opposed to the old PeopleMover (1967-1995) & Rocket Rods (1998-2000) in Tomorrowland, instead of a new ride with motorized tracks, we all know it could be the New PeopleMover without motorized tracks, it could be Heathrow Pod Tour, it could be Boxcar Tour or it could be a new ride with normal speed that is more comfortable than ever before.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the reason STAR TOURS was closed because of the big earthquake of ‘94. I remember shortly after the quake, we went and I remember being upset because it was closed

As far as I can find, nothing at Disneyland closed due to the Northridge quake.

The aftermath of the attractions at the last second of New Tomorrowland 1.0 -
3:04 C-3PO and R2-D2 don't appear, it was blacked out for Rocket Rods
    5:29 No Captain EO
    5:42 No "Mission to Mars"
11:20 No speech mention of the films, i think she said "Wow that got torn down, I don't remember anything like this happening. Look at how many people there is. "

I gotta agree with you there. Pressler and Harris closing so many of the little places and turning them into shops. Like there weren't enough places to buy things already.
They completely misunderstood what Disneyland was, they were all about the money.
And Rocket Rods sucked. If you lived in Southern California, all you had to do to get the Rocket Rod experience in real life was drive during rush hour.

I miss Rocket Rods. I miss Videopolis. I'll miss Rainforest Cafe. Screw Disney. Modern Disney leadership especially. Going back, Eisner did some smart stuff. But then for each smart idea, he followed it up with an even more stupid one.

If Disney ever wanted to dig them selves out of a hole there In especially now in 2023, all they have to do is bring back the people mover and a few other things and people would forget them alittle I think.

It's from running over all those people that decided it was a good idea to jump cars. So many people died. Like two young men to be specific.

Does anyone have video or a picture of the escalator going up to the PeopleMover? I know it must have looked like the one in Walt Disney World, but I can't seem to find anything that showed what it looked like.

That's the CircleVision waiting area. CircleVision was the 360° theater where you stood for the show and stood between rails so that you didn't fall over when watching. *lol*
When they took the movie, they had a special camera set up with multiple cameras that took the movies in a complete circle, then they had mulitple projectors in the theater, giving you the feeling of being right in the middle of the action, no matter which way you were facing. It was really pretty advanced for that time.
