KVIE Channel 6 (Now PBS KVIE) moved from 2480 Garden Highway in 1989, to 2030 El Camino Avenue in Sacramento off Interstate 5, their current digs in January 1990. And they did bury things into a time capsule for their new building site in 1988. And yes indeed, the time capsule was opened in 2009 on KVIE's 50th Anniversary, almost four months before the transition to DTV on June 12, 2009. And KVIE was on cable systems Northwestern Nevada in the Reno and Carson City area and Northeastern California, until KNPB-TV Channel 5 in Reno (Now PBS Reno) began broadcasting September 29, 1983 with a PBS station of their own to serve Northwestern and Northeastern Nevada and Northeastern California.
