This is a great video! Now I will read A Room of One's Own. I've always been a bit intimidated by Virginia Woolf. It's time to get over that. And Leave Only Footprints sounds fabulous. How have I missed that? Nothing to Envy is already in my TBR pile. Maybe I should move it up a few notches. Oh, heck, I want to read them all! Thanks for this. Oh, and to add my favorite nonfiction book of 2023, that's tough! I read tons of nonfiction. But my favorite was probably Fox and I by Catherine Raven. It was just a haunting book for me. I identified with Raven's isolation, and I will never forget that fox. It was beautiful.
A Room of One's Own is really amazing. I also read Mrs Dalloway by Virginia last year, and I did not like it. I think that her non-fiction works for me, but her fiction is not my jam. I just looked up Fox and I and it sounds amazing! I have never heard of it before. I have added it to my TBR! Thank you for sharing =)
Favourite non-fiction of last year was None of the above: Reflections on life outside the binary - Travis Alabanza Entangled life: how fungi make our worlds, change our minds and shape our futures - Merlin Sheldrake Life on the edge: The coming of age of Quantum biology - Johnjoe McFadden, Jim Al-Khalili
I have heard of non of the above and have it on my mental TBR. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it! I am planning on reading Entangled Life this year and I am super excited =)
Such a killer list, added most of these to the TBR. It’s so interesting I read mostly fiction by a good margin, but my favorite books of the last 2 years have been nonfiction by a large margin. This year was braiding Sweetgrass by robin wall kimmerer!
Isn't it strange how that happens?! I have such a stronger bond a lot of the time with non-fiction. I looooved braiding sweetgrass! I would love to reread it this year.
No particular order as well. Favorite non fiction from 2023 - The Art Thief (this was all across Europe, you may enjoy), The Feather Thief, Liquid Gold - Bees and the Pursuit of Midlife Honey. Strong honorable mentions for Con Artist by Tony Tetro (I was on a brief art kick!), Truffle Hound by Rowan Jacobson and Entangled Life.

These all sound very good! You've got great taste in non-fiction. I have never heard of liquid gold, but it sounds so amazing!
A wonderful list of books 🤗
Thank you!
Tough women sounds awesome! How long is the book/ how many stories?
It was around 20 stories! Maybe 250 pages total? Each story ranged between 5-15 pages.
I just finish How to Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair (a memoir of a young girl/woman that grows up in a strict Rastafarian home in Jamaica)
wow this sounds super interesting! i just added it to my TBR, thank you for sharing =)
