It's always so surreal hearing Unknown Hinson speaking technically and professionally about the details of his guitar, when you've become so used to his off-the-wall stage persona.
His advice is priceless to anyone who is trying to make it. It's all about getting out there and doing it. For some reason stu keeps popping into my feed these days. Damn shame he got canceled. A rockabilly legend. Saw him with the rev a long long time ago.
I have seen Unknown a half dozen times and he is great, a lot of fun to talk to after the show. He'll hang around as long as you will and autograph and talk guitar, he's a good guy.
I learned of Unknown through the Squidbilles TV show, I was wondering who was responsible for the great voice work...Little did I know that the guy with the great voice could play even better! WOW! What a surprise to find a guy that could shred the guitar like Unknown! I have seen, and met Unknown several times in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama. He is one of the best guitarists around today. I love his version of "18", by Alice Cooper; He says I'm "Unknown" instead if 18. He starts the song with the medley of Robin Trowers, "Bridge of Sighs". Awesome!
I'm lucky enough to have grown up with unknown playing around town all the time (I'm in his home town) and he has the best live guitar sound ever! A true master of music, he plays all the instruments on his recordings, writes, produces and directs his video works and shows, and is the kinda guy that when you watch him wear that Reverend out, makes you wish you were him!
