In the early 90's there are absolutely no buildings there. You stay in a traditional nipa hut. When it's full moon the coconut tree cast a beautiful shadow on the gorgeous white fine sand! Enjoy your stay there!

Boracay is the best island for parties and swimming wise because of its fine white powdery sands. But in my opinion, Siargao is the fave island. The community spirit on that island is amazing😊

    Amazing drone shots!
Loved Boracay the first time to visit in the 70’s. At that time, only locals and the indegenous people lived there. It was totally nature without any development. We stayed overnight in Nipa huts complements of the locals, the friendliest and the humblest people ever.
Lucky to have seen a lot of unspoiled before I came to live in the States(San Diego having the best weather in the U.S.).
Enjoy your travels and keep safe! You are extremely and absolutely right about people who have the least, are the friendliest and believe me, they are the happiest too! Not caring too much for material belongings but grateful always for what they have and living life to the fullest.
Thank you for visiting our country. Try going to Siargao if you have a chance. Palawan is great too but quite crowded and touristy!

I looovveee Boracay! We were there end of July and it was raining a bit, but the beaches were still fantastic. We were booked in Bulabog Beach, and it was so calm at that time and no wind, so no kite surfers. I regret that I didn't try the sea urchins when I saw a local fisherman selling it in Bulabog. Surely cheaper and fresher than in the markets! Puka Beach was so memorable. We played chess at the little corner hut there selling gin and tonic and other cold drinks and the beach view was simply amazing right before sunset. Oh, I have to stop now, coz I am already missing Boracay. :(

Just a note guys, those shells you gathered might get you into hot water with immigration. They could confiscate them and possibly fine you, or worse. It depends on the type of shell (I didn't get enough of a look to see what you had there.) It's always best to live by that quote "Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time" for many reasons including any laws that prohibit the removal of sand or certain sea shells. Great vids!

You shsould try the Sea Urchin, they are very good. They would normally crack them in half, an you will see the yellow eggs in it, the local would them put some lime or vinegar in them and then eat them. In japanese sushi, they are usually referred to as UNI. BUt to eat them directly in the shell is a different experience and they taste fresher. Have fun in Boracay.

paradise indeed. I don't think the owner of the AirBNB you went to wasn't Chinese. It's prohibited in Philippine law for foreigner to own a business solely. There are Filipinos who look Chinese because they are Filipino Chinese. You said he worked in Malaysia, yes. Filipinos travel abroad to work. They're called OFWs or Overseas Filipino Workers. Foreigners can own property or businesses only if they are married to a Filipino. Which would have been the one to register the business. So many business opportunities there in Boracay btw. Such a beautiful place. Hope to visit there soon
