Thanks! This gave me a couple ideas. I have Fynn, the Fangbearer in my Hapatra deck and he is an absolute menace.

Just found this channel. I love this idea. Rebuilding old favorites with updated cards.

It's been a long time since I've done one. I think I need to get back to this

One upgrade that I would put in the deck is carnifax demon.

I'm making a 2.0 version with her as an infect deck. I think that'll make her way scarier.

I had the same idea. Do you happen to have a decklist?

thelons chant doesnt work with hapatra if im reading it right. the player that controls hapatra has to be the player that places the -1/-1 counter in order to generate the snake token. if other players place it you dont get a snake.

That sounds right. I guess I'll just have to play the Swamp myself

Question. If you use hapatra and nest of scarabs and let's just say you manage to get like... 5 snakes and 5 scarabs then use illness within ranks. It sounds like an infinite loop where they die and new ones are created. But with blowfly infestation it would apply -1/-1 to opponents creatures when your tokens die which would create more snakes and scarabs? As many -1/-1 counters it takes to kill opponents creature? Or am I thinking about this all wrong xD
I was thinking the illness within ranks loop would also work with when your creature dies opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. Which ends the game?

@@CAPTAlN_FALCON that's a great question. I'll have to do some digging into the rules and interactions

@@MysticalArchiveMTG no need. I did some research too and it says in the notes of illness within ranks "if a creature token would be created from the effects of illness within ranks it comes into play as a creature with 0 toughness dies immediately" (not exact verbage) but nuking your own tokens I think would proc the blowfly infestation (because they are created with 0 toughness but they still touch the board before dying) which would apply -1/-1 that would create a second semi-loop? (it wouldn't go on forever Just until all opponents creatures have died) so .. potentially you just need 1 token creating card nest of scarabs or hapatra then have illness within ranks and blowfly infestation in play. Then if one of your creatures dies it will start the chain reaction (creature dies/counter applied/token created/token dies/counter applied) which would go on until all opponents creatures have died (giving you time to set up life gain/life loss when creature dies)

@@MysticalArchiveMTG I just found Blind creeper, having this on the field would start the chain reaction aswell as soon as opponent plays a card
