Was lucky to have seen Gigi and the band in DC last week. Such a wonderful experience. Their gift is purely magical (and more so live)! If you get the chance, it’s a must see! It won’t disappoint.
The silence and the way they just enjoyed Gigi’s performance 😂. These three ladies are talented but the language barrier and comfort makes a difference and translates to performance. Filipino singers are comfortable singing in english and some like Gigi, KZ and Katrina have the ears to listen well and go ham on their performance.
The 3 are all great singers but the difference is that the first 2 just sang the normal melody as the original whereas Gigi add a lot of flavors to the song to make it her own. That's what great singers do, they don't just sing like the original singer, they add their own style to it and that's what a creative artist does.
Alin’s backup singers stood out to me more than her. It’s difficult for me to listen to Asian singers sing English because their accents always give them away. Filipinos are the only ones that can pass as native speakers when they sing, but they are naturally talented singers as an overall people. They have natural rhythm and sound that East Asians don’t have.

Sweet voice, but IU doesn’t hold a candle to Gi Gi not a normal Filipino citizen that just sings karaoke. Iv heard plenty of normal everyday Filipinos with a much better voice and musical talent than IU. Filipinos are just on another level. Even African Americans, who are considered the best singers praise Filipino singers.

It's GIGI DE LANA all the way for me!! Her vocal agility and passionate performance were more impactful and affected me more with her beautiful voice compared to IU and ALin who gave a good & decent performance as well!
