I added four NTC thermistors, one for each cooktop burner. Shut off a burner say after boiling eggs, the element stays hot for some time. The power goes thru fuse, resistors designed for the LED, to the NTC thermistor to ground. Drilling into low grade magnetic stainless steel is easy. Mount the LED with "HOT" on lens's next to the control knob. They make these models but cost $700 more. I spent $18 uncle Joe dollars for lamp, thermistor and had wire using one 5 amp fuse in one holder. Schematic is under top taped to outer edge for future repair guy!! Have a lucky one...
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to discover how to make basic electronic circuits try Bablim Electronics Booster (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.
Depends largely on what type you are using (physical shape). One BIG tip is to ensure that you use good Thermal interface material(TIM) so there is no air gap to slow the thermal response. Thermal paste is the most common.
@@digikey Excellent advice, as a thermal grease not only helps transfer heat into a component, but pull heat away from a device such as a integrated circuit chip to an ignition module mounted to the base of a distributor on a vehicle with electronic ignition like GM’s HEI distributors. With out it, they fail from heat and have a short life. Dielectric silicone grease is a safe guard from moisture and used on rubber weather to hydrate it, make it last longer and if used in areas of freezing temps, it keeps the door from freezing shut. It’s indicated in the maintenance section of owners manuals. Thanks! ASE Master 78.

Hi! What happens if i connect in parallel an Ntc and a Ptc? Will i have a sum of their value o will they cancel each other? I would need a ptc to balance the lower Resistance of an Ntc... Thanks!

Longer cables will affect the resistance and thereby the voltage drop over the two leads with the thermistor at a constant current. This may fool your measuring equipment into thinking that temperature changed the thermistor circuit restistance when it was actually only the longer leads. One way to deal with this would be to account for the known characteristics of the longer leads in the measuring software, or even increasing the voltage proportional to the voltage drop in the longer leads. Maybe another wire material and thickness could balance some of the changes in characteristics.
