Agree with you! Also, back in RE7 when Ethan is asked by pre-infected Jack Baker to save his family, I noticed it seems like they are in some sort of warped dimension. Zoe is also there but doesn’t speak. Do you think Rose may communicate with Ethan in a similar way?
it was hinted that it wasnt mia during when she was shot at, she didnt scream in pain, she simply looked at the gunshot wound like it was an inconvience, like a small itch that just appeared
Wel actually, Mia's reaction is very normal, it's very possible that she was in shock when she gets shot, unlike movies, there's actually a chance that when you get shot you'll just stare at the wound in shock.

@@diogoreis7117 no, because there were only two and he gave the first one to a mutated Jack in order to defeat him and then he gave the second one to Mia. Ethan managed to defeat Evelin before she took over his mind, which is why he lived. However if we are going off the fact that Ethan had never survived the bakers and instead was killed by Jack and came back as a molded, then there is still a possibility that even if Ethan had cured himself it would not have worked because he was a molded and thus would have calcified and died like Jack
Am I the only one who got chills when the agent told Rose that she's a lot like her dad and her response was a very powerful: "I know"? We've had it confirmed that the mold possesses a hive mind sort of thing, consciousness that spans throughout its creations. I felt like this, along with the image of the man next to the car, symbolizes that Rose is more than just aware of the kind of person her dad was. That she can distinctly remember and feel his presence at all times thanks to the mold.
Similar to mirandas daughter that was downloaded on the megamycite, Ethan was even more deeply connected to the mold, making the possibility of not only his mind in general but his actual active conciousness surviving very real
It was stated that the mold contains all "records" of the hosts/molded so with rose being the new mold conductor im sure she would remember, although ethan was constantly resisting the mold and it never touched his brain maybe records may not have been made of his memories. Very interesting perspective.

I personally think at some point rose is going to get enough control to actually bring her dad back for a few minutes, that seems like a good plot point to me because the mold would remember Ethan well. We saw in 7 how eventhough the bakers where mutated and even dead that ethan still had a talk with that so its a possibility that rose could talk to her dad in a dream like state.

I think it's one thing to note how the Village Shadows tale connects to the actual Village: The bat = Alcina Dimitrescu (vampire woman) The dark weaver = Donna Beneviento (doll maker) The monstrous fish = Salvatore Moreau (deformed giant amphibian) The mechanical horse = Karl Heisenberg (mind over metal) The witch = Mother Miranda
True but then she wouldn't have let any of them live and make Ethans "life" shorter and probably just be a badass as she was stronger before we accually fought her
I'm in love with the in-depth explanation of the entire story and how it all works out. Mother Miranda lost her only daughter in the early 1900's to the Spanish flu, being completely devastated by this event meant that she can't live on without Eva, and went off in the cave system to end her life. That's where she discovers the ancient parasite of the Mold variant that was featured in Bio-hazard and it infected the Baker family with Evangeline in control. Basically Miranda created a cloned version of her daughter in the E-Series, but deemed her to be a complete failure. That's when Evangeline snaps because she wanted a family of her own and uses her new founded "gift" to infect the Baker family, Mia, and Ethan in the process of mutating from the bio engineered Mold virus. Then later Miranda used the Mold or "Caidu" to experiment in the four lords of the village and they mutated after the Caidu was introduced to their dying bodies. With Rose however, with the Mold virus in her system, Miranda hoped that reintroducing her to the ancient parasite meant that she'll get her daughter Eva back after the mutation was complete. However it never took effect and Rose began to take or drain away Miranda's immortality and shapeshifting powers where it leaves her completely weak for Ethan to finish off her for good. I like to see if this ever comes back in the next game......
have to admit, I was terrified when the Duke say that the flask had Rose's head inside. I mean, who wouldnt be scared when there is literally a CHILD'S HEAD IN A FRICKING FLASK!?!?
It was clearly obvious that Ethan was dead for me when he didnt get pissed at Miranda dismembering his daughter. Because I would be yelling and fighting and saying things that could get me banned

The only real problem is that they kind of fallen into a trap and doing that you almost every game there seems to be a revelation as to when and how umbrella started and the time frame just keeps going back further each time to the point where it becomes less of a shock
It will all probably go as far back to Egyptian times and in the end it's all the Alien's fault and Wesker's alive again but fused with the Volcano now.

I just realized one of Dimitrescu's daughters say that Ethans blood has already began to go stale. When she said that i was like "that makes no sense he's still alive, how is his blood going stale?" Welp now we know. I love that little throw away line thay no one really would pay attention to, actually being a MAJORLY important detail.
It was Dimitrescu oneechan who said that. She was the one who tasted Ethan's blood in the first place, and that could've actually be a hint for Ethan's nature after the louisiana incident in RE7 until you realized Ethan has been dead for 3 years and only then his blood started to go a little stale as big D stated? But then again he was allegedly reborn as a mold and kept his consciousness after being reborn as one.
The real throwaway detail that's actually a huge clue is Ethan reattaching his hand WITH sleeve. Turns out the sleeve is just jacket-shaped mold, and part of his body.
I bet Ethan could possible be in roses head similarly to how the baker family shared a sort of mental state even after death in 7, when you get to talk with a more sane jack baker. Maybe Ethan will give his daughter encouragement and advice through this connection. Or maybe she'll just feel his presence, im sad he's dead but maybe he isn't gone gone
@@nobodyspecial1019 I WAS THINKING OF THE SAME THING OH MY GOD I HOPE ROSE REVIVES HER FATHER THAT WOULD BE THE BEST ENDING IM ALREADY CRYING HAPPY TEARS THINKING ABOUT ETHAN COMING BACK
I had no idea this story was so damn good. Especially the sacrifice of the already dead Ethan, & Rose's potential as a really good protagonist of the final part. I'm a father, & watching the scene of Ethan take the detonator & say goodbye to Rose, I genuinely felt that. What a sad, depressing final feeling to feel before your real permanent death.
I found it suspicious when i played the that Mia didn't react to being shot the first time she just looked as if it didn't hurt her but like she was confused and she was STILL alive after being shot so many times 🤣
@@Ethan_Whitlock getting shot that many times should have ended anyone human. But humans are durable in Resident Evil since William Birkin survived more shots like entire clip of an Assault rifle to the chest. But he just passed out for a few moments and injected the G virus in himself. He should have no way to survived that Assault he's just a scientist, not even infected by anything till after he was shot.
As much as I miss Umbrella and mansions with underground labs, the whole story with the Winters family is really intriguing and I’m excited to see it through to the end. Part of me still hopes they tie it all back to the original games lore (better than they have) though. I honestly think Resident Evil 6 was a good concept narratively, it was just executed extremely poorly, and I think they should try something similar to it again to end this series. If handled properly it could be a good way to tie up loose ends by telling a bunch of vaguely connected stories simultaneously in a single game. I just don’t want to see 20 years of lore flushed down the drain.
i was excited when i saw miranda was connected to umbrella corp somehow bc it tied to the previous events way more, i think the next game will 100% connect back to the events b4 7
When I first played Village I was concerned about Mia’s voice in the beginning. Her voice was darker than hers in 7 but I didn’t think about her being a fake. It was clearly showed to us in the form of that voice.
There is an early hint of Ethan being a living mold: When you first get into the village, Ethan got cut from the barbed wire, but as he crawled beneath a fallen cabinet, you can see he inspected the blood in his hand, but there is no sign of his earlier wound. Another hint is when Ethan was first chased by Daniela in the Hall of Pleasure - an insect flew from his right hand which he earlier ripped from the meathooks, and yet again his right hand was completely healed. Another mysterious bit I realized, is the Duke is keeping a Cadou jar with him. What for? Also the Castle Dimitrescu wasn't destroyed in the explosion. Possible DLC?
His legs, particularly his left, also take an incredible amount of punishment throughout the game without getting acknowledged. Impaled multiple times, chomped, lacerated. Honestly it's so obvious that Ethan has supernatural durability that I was surprised when they acted like it was a twist.
I assume his hands just heal wounds with the magic juice but when he fell in heisenburg’s factory and just talks to Chris I was like “nah this man is mold”
One subtle detail that I missed hinting Ethan's Mold. At the start, he cut his hand on the barbed wires. Then after entering/exiting the first house, while crawling, it already healed. Damn I love this game.
As I was playing through the game I noticed stuff like this. Especially when his hand got cut off and he just put it back on, at first I was thinking it was just really bad game design and game plot. But now I feel stupid for not realising 😂

I wonder if the writers back in 1996 already thought of this or if it was just a prequel story that was made up with RE7. Though nothing in the old games referenced any of the mold stuff so it's unlikely that the writers back then already had this in mind.
Ethan's death made me cry. He was a devoted father that wanted to protect his wife and his child. You get attached quickly and easily because his character is likeable and realistic. I can't wait to see if they make a game where we get to see how Rose plays a part in the organization. Though I have a feeling her story will get me crying too.
I was legit upset at the end of this game. I am glad they finalized the conclusion with the short message that was straight to the point. I hope they keep it that way. Great story. Also, Mother Miranda is bangin’. And Heisenberg calling Chris a “boulder punching fool” or asshole or whatever was soooo great lol got a good laugh from that one
I think it's fair to say that Ethan Winters was an amazing character. He wasn't the most memorable only because Capcom made him too mysterious, but other than that, he's the best male character aside from Chris and Leon. He went out of his way for his wife in Dulvey, died for her there, basically came back to life, saved Mia, and got Chris to save Zoey, someone Ethan barely even knew. He raised a daughter with his wife until she was kidnapped and Miranda doppleganged her, and when his baby was taken from him, he went through even more hell to save her. And he did save her, and in the process of saving her, he sadly died a hero's death. But there's a possibility that the man at the end of the cemetery cutscene was him, but idk. We'll see. Ethan Winters, the most relatable and determined character I've ever known since Arthur Morgan and Joel Miller.
What's interesting about you mentioning the guy at the end when Rose drive off could of been Ethan....that's actually a model of him. Can't remember which RUclipsr showed it. But he was able to zoom in on that mysterious character and it was Ethans character model.
It would be really epic if Ethan turn into mutant monster to fight mother Miranda in the end instead of just using gun , afterall that's what the other infected turn into before they slowly dying. That's gotta be nuts
If the jacket itself is also mold, could there be a chance that Ethan will get revived from his jacket? I mean, judging by the fact that the sleeves of the jacket healed itself when he reattached his arm.
After watching the ending for residents evil village i started to notice that in the beggining that mia was being a lot more aggresive to ethan and very concerned about rose if you notice that mia tends to raise her voice before getting shot
I thought the four lord's split rose to avoid any one of them being overpowered. I also think that Miranda is aware that all four lord's could defeat her so she used Ethan to take them all out so she can continue with her plan with Rose.
This was the first RE game I actually got into. The gameplay and story is incredible, and the ending had me blown away, and Ethan’s story ending almost had me in tears. Can’t wait to see what happens with Chris in the next game!
When He Stated that Mia was actually Mother Miranda, I was so relieved and at the same time was like "So It was Ethan and Mother Miranda who went and made baby Rose" LOL.Kill me.
I wonder if Miranda was the woman at the store that gave Mia the village of shadows book. She can take any form so that would make sense as a point of taking Mia unawares.
Ethan is my favourite character in the Resident Evil franchise, I don't know why I am so invested in his story. But I understand why fans would prefer other characters though.
@@zestytriss5282 Yeah. It sucks that they kept him that way. I mean we know what his face looks like when you mod the game, but I feel like they could have showed it in RE8 just before he sacrifices himself. I feel like that would have been really bitter sweet.
Was thinking about the last scene with Rose in the car when he told her she is a lot like Ethan and she said, "I know." Rose was born from parents infected with the megamycete, then later literally REborn from it. She could have inherited the memories of Ethan that the megamycete and its various incarnations--including Ethan himself--observed. Since Ethan was alive due to the megamycete, and fungus is known for communicating with itself using pheremones and electrical signals over hyphae, maybe his memories and feelings were passed on to her through the megamycete. As others have said, maybe she will see Ethan in a dream-like state similar to how Ethan saw Eveline. It could explain why the figure at the distance in the end was apparently Ethan, though maybe not why the driver braked as if he saw the figure too. The idea that Rose actually knew what Ethan was like (and how much he loved her) through more than just spoken stories seems pretty sweet and would hopefully help her balance her powers going forward. Maybe she sees him in a dream state is she loses control in RE9 and he calms her down. I could be waaaaaay off but it is fun to speculate!
The situation with Rose being decapitated and divided like some kind of a play was so chillingly horrible it was actually the turning point for me and wanted to cry like damn.
I find the stories and design of horror games fascinating, but I have panic disorder and can't actually watch or play horror games, videos like these help me still enjoy the medium with distance, so thanks

I never am scared by horror games but that nearly made me shit my pants
I think it's worth noting that when the car gets to the "mysteries figure" that might be Ethan, the brakes lights seem to turn on. Just saying, I think there's a chance we might see him again in the flesh (or in the mold, rather)
This was a masterpiece of a game. It was so well done and I loved how they tied together so much of the previous games together with this story. I cried real tears at the end, Ethan is definitely one of my favorite resident evil characters!
They did make a model for Ethan at the very end, he isn't wearing his jacket. That is a different model from the rest of the game. I think Ethan showing up here will be extremely important moving on and is likely where the next game will start.
yeah i mean, they didn't really have to go out of their way to put a model there in the first place, the scene wouldn't have looked much different unless there was purpose
Yea his thoughts about it just being a model to make life easier doesn’t make sense. They could have used anybody in the game and they use the recently dead father of the new MC? Yeah no that’s too many coincidences, especially if you can enter photo mode and actually see his hand like that. Like why not use Chris? Heisenberg? A nameless soldier? Nameless werewolf? Why use the father of the MC that people are going to obviously realize?

I honestly think Resident Evil 6 was a good concept narratively, it was just executed extremely poorly, and I think they should try something similar to it again to end this series.

We'll see.

@@zestytriss5282 Yeah. It sucks that they kept him that way. I mean we know what his face looks like when you mod the game, but I feel like they could have showed it in RE8 just before he sacrifices himself. I feel like that would have been really bitter sweet.
Was thinking about the last scene with Rose in the car when he told her she is a lot like Ethan and she said, "I know."
Rose was born from parents infected with the megamycete, then later literally REborn from it.
I love coming back to watch these story explained videos when i do basically anything
Can I just say I love that they fixed the hair. It looks like hair instead of weird plastic strands on thier heads.
Yeah ikr I Mean If You Look At Marguerite Baker Up close Her Hair-
Damn It Looks Like Spider Legs On Her Head.
Still havent fixed the liquid pouring animation though, lmao worst looking shit ive ever seen.
@@susanboardman9294 Would make sense if that were the case, she did control bugs after all..
@@leshape192 yup
@*Considers giving you up* 7 or 8?
I feel so sorry for Ethan over these 2 games.... He suffered and at the end died saving his own daughter
I find the stories and design of horror games fascinating, but I have panic disorder and can't actually watch or play horror games, videos like these help me still enjoy the medium with distance, so thanks
There was a part where I found a note that said "look through the window" proceeding to aim down the scope of my sniper for a better view only for a homeless man to pop into frame screaming like some crack fiend getting a whiff. I never am scared by horror games but that nearly made me shit my pants
Blew his head clean off tho straight gamer plays
i’m sad that ethan died, but i’m really excited to see how rose will be as a main character. she seems like a badass
Ethan’s Hands be damned, just as I was wondering when you’d be explaining this game.
Poor ethan had his right hand chopped off this time
@@angelobelmont9379 screw the right hand
I feel bad for the left hand
@@scarletassassin523 yeah half of it got bit off
I think it's worth noting that when the car gets to the "mysteries figure" that might be Ethan, the brakes lights seem to turn on.
I want Rose to meet the Duke in the next game, it would be so bittersweet 💔 I hope he’d also be the merchant next game too
Weather: drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cadou: f*ck this sh*t I’m out.
Imagine, if there's a next game, Chris and his men find a way to put Ethan back together. Imagine they find his heart or his mutilated hands and use it for DNA copying
his hands are probably the final core item in re9 storyline
@@bananoid3726 “severed hand”
oo nice theory 👀
Honestly, Ethan being brought back would absolutely be amazing.
so they gonan go pull a dracula on him?
