iamstd2 In Italian it does actually! Every name has to finish with "da" according to the Naming Guidelines, and the village name is "Daccapo" which means like "from the beginning" (when you build or create something from nothing but also when you start something fresh new and leave what you've already done behind) and that's awesome haha. It's hard to explain how this joke works, but it is great if you understand it
Derpy Dimentio i didn't like it, it was too grindy for me and its very long, but worth it since now i can get back the worn-out gear i "accidentally" sold off and dye them in many ways! Oh and get the hylian shield back just in case you get zapped by wizzrobes like an idiot and drop it in a pit of despair!..........
hell I had just as much, if not more attachment to this quest than I did for the main quest. it's the only quest in recent memory that rewards you for getting to know side characters-- for actually learning more about the world and caring enough to hear about it from npcs. The fetch quest portions were eh, but you WANTED to do it to help give these people you saw in your adventures a new life. and you get a reward that isn't just monetary, but you actually see and hear the effects of your work, culminating in a whole new location on the map. this song was the kicker for me, I am forever gonna remember fondly waiting in town after every new addition to the bgm. Moments like that are why BOTW is so amazing, its just so damn memorable.
agreed. I might be biased cause i'm an OST head who loves anything involving its own theme, but a sidequest in zelda hasn't quite impacted me like this one in a long time.
Afroctopus The sad little jingle of the NPCs leaving their home for a chance at a better life. When you see everything going well, you get a sense of satisfaction that most other quests can't even attempt to replicate.
Couldn’t agree more 😭 I always do talk to all the NPC’s, unless I’m suspicious about them being Yiga Clan. And even if I am suspicious, usually I still talk to them. 😂 This is one of the best side quests in the game! Ok, the very best of them all. You get to build your own village! (Or help build it, should I say.) And the saddest part is the music that plays when the NPC leaves their home to go to Tarrey town. It’s the saddest part, but also happy in a way in my opinion. And you even get to experience a wedding! Also, Tarrey town has about the best arrow shop in Hyrule. Even if it does take about 110 wood and finding all the characters in order to complete the side quest, it is DEFINITELY worth it. The “From the ground up” side quest is definitely one I will never regret doing.
Thanks so much for 10.000 subscribers!! That's insane! 1:36 Goron variant 3:11 Gerudo variant 4:59 Rito variant 6:23 Zora variant 7:25 Hateno variant Had to reupload because of framerate issues. Apologies!
It was so fun to watch this town grow, from a bunch of rocks to a neat little city with shops and everything, and the fact that it gets to grow because of YOUR help really makes it feel like home. The wedding scene was just icing on the cake. I really love how everytime you brought a new person there, their hometown's theme would get added to Tarrey Town's :D
Either this or hyrule castle is your best work. Hyrule castle is more epic but in this one you included every extra instrument when a new character arrives and that takes dedication. You deserve all my respect!
I feel like this “side quest” is practically required in the game, not only does it simply enhance the experience of the game, but there’s a shop on one of the house’s balconies that will sell you a new Hylian Sheild once the one you have breaks
I really like how you added an instrument for each character. As an NES programmer that knows how limited this system can be, I have to say that you really outdid yourself this time! Bravo!
This is one of my favourite side quest of the game. It's just so beautiful! I mean, you see how Tarrey Town is built and all the small events that happen there. I often go there to see how is it going and to listen to the music. Just wonderful
yessssssssss!!! also love the little sprites at the bottom, so cool have you thought about opening a patreon account? your stuff is amazing, it would definitely pay off!
This was an amazing arrangement, you've done wonderful justice to one of my favourite parts of this game (When the clarinet Rito line was added to this track in game, I fucking lost it!) It's incredible that you've managed to maintain all of the elegant interweavings of motives in just three parts!
You definitely outdid yourself on this one! Adding all the little flourishes from each new inhabitant without losing the central melody or its support is quite a feat while limited to three notes/slides, and keeping it recognizable and flowing without feeling like its transitions are too abrupt is another.
I saw you playing ARMS during the middle slot testpunch today ;) Thanks for adding me! My nickname is TWhacker on the switch. Wonderful work as always Loeder!!
I love this soooo much! I love the Tarrey town music because it has parts from all the other villages (Not all, but you know what I mean) and I love how you added how it sounds after each new character comes to the town! Beautiful music!
I love these kinds of quests. Colony 6 in the original xenoblade was one of my favorites and when I realized Tarrey Town would be similar I was suer excited lol
Sayzar94 completely agree! I still have fond memories of Colony 6, too. I bet the guys from xenoblade had a say in this sidequest's development, since they helped with BotW.
This song seems like an allegory for life. Not a cohesive whole, but instead an incomplete masterpiece just waiting for its next part. Just a group of individuals trying to make what they have beautiful.
It's seriously impressive that you managed to make this piece sound so good with only 3 active channels (plus percussion). You totally deserve your 10 000 subscribers! Keep up the awesome work!
Ive been patiently awaiting this song to appear on your channel and im so glad you took the time to flesh out its true glory. Wouldnt change a thing. (Except maybe given Pelison his own sprite)
So your Arms Theme video popped up in my recommended tonight, and then this. You earned my subscription sir. And seeing more of the videos on the right, it looks like I'm about to be watching a lot of your stuff! Keep up the awesome work, these songs are incredible!
I heard about this side quest from a friend, and it inspired me to pick up BotW, and hearing that final theme and even the little fanfare when characters went to the town was beautiful. I don’t regret buying BotW at all, and I’ll admit, I may have perhaps left the game running at night in this town for some music to help me fall asleep (Edited to add that this version is done incredibly, and it does really sound like an NES Tarrey Town would)
You have 23K subs? I was just looking through your stuff and man oh man, I would expect you to have tons more. I'll definitely contribute and keep listening to your stuff.
I didn't think 8 bits could capture everything great about this piece but was quickly proven wrong. Without realizing, I actually completely stopped what I was doing to listen to the entire 10 minutes and follow the "notes." It's a real testament to the music in this game that even the "de-make" versions are worth doing that.
Noo, im late :( I really liked the tarrey town quest but it ain't my favourite quest *like everyone here says xD* I heard your version of the theme over and over because its sooo good. And i like how the sprites represent the part of the song :D
idk why i never noticed the towns music evolve as new residence moved in. always loved the tarry town quest line though because of everything done in the game, this was one of the few things that felt like you had an actual effect on the world
Oh my goodness I was so disappointed with this song when it started. Only for it to get 1000 times better. Keep on doing what you do man, you're great.
I still don't know why the name of the town doesn't follow the Bolson Construction Naming Guidelines.
iamstd2 right! lol
It would be Tarreyson, and nobody likes the name Tarreyson except for Bolson, because it would make him feel a little better about his terrible name
iamstd2 In Italian it does actually! Every name has to finish with "da" according to the Naming Guidelines, and the village name is "Daccapo" which means like "from the beginning" (when you build or create something from nothing but also when you start something fresh new and leave what you've already done behind) and that's awesome haha. It's hard to explain how this joke works, but it is great if you understand it
iamstd2 Right, it should be Tarreyson
In spanish we have Arkadia Town instead of Tarrey Town, it doesnt follow the guidelines but at least have a "ka"
The fact that you took the time to change the melody to include each character's new instrument is proof why you're the best 👌🏼
well, if he didnt do it, it wuld be a disservice to the sound track.
+Fixti0n
It would go against the Bolson Construction guidelines
SEE I FOUND YOU AGAIN YOU LITTLE FUCKER!! GET OFF THE INTERNET NOW
Chaotic Chris NEVER, I'LL DISAPPEAR INTO THESE SERIES OF TUBES AND YOU'LL NEVER FIND ME AGAIN
True
favourite side quest in the game
Derpy Dimentio my favorite out of any Zelda game
I wish the game could let you expand the village more even after you finish the quest.
Derpy Dimentio Nah, there is better one. *Flashback of searching for cookbook*
OnlyTAS where you find it
Derpy Dimentio i didn't like it, it was too grindy for me and its very long, but worth it since now i can get back the worn-out gear i "accidentally" sold off and dye them in many ways! No one ever thought they would see such a wedding in a Zelda game.
Kaffei and Anju
Hiruko exactly
Majora's Mask begs to differ.
Kafei and Anju can kiss my fat a**, this was the best sidequest in the entire series.
Calm down dude, it was a joke. Yeesh.
They should've had more sidequests like this one in the game
NeonFish710 I'm calling it: that will be the next great DLC pack. A whole new, big, sidequest.
IKR
BigLord I guess you were sorta right, and you get a sweet bike too
Other side quests are also fantastic. Yes some are feel like filler quests.
BigLord u called it

Afroctopus This was the best sidequest in all of Zelda tbh. Except for maybe the True Love Mask quest in Majora's Mask.
agreed. I might be biased cause i'm an OST head who loves anything involving its own theme, but a sidequest in zelda hasn't quite impacted me like this one in a long time.

you should change your name to Loedson

Who ever gave this a thumbs down needs to reevaluate their life. This is pretty awesome.
I placed my travel medallion in this town so I could teleport here whenever I want as it is the only town to not have a shrine that is inside it
It has one nearby and you can paraglide there

This is a beautiful visualization of that portion of the game. The layering of musical themes as you built Tarrey Town was brilliant.
Oh my GOD, this is just what I needed after a tiring day at work. Amazing.

Save it until you’ve reached Gerudo Desert after traveling counter-clockwise around Hyrule from Kakariko Village to Zora’s Domain.

Best Botw side quest that made you really wanted to find out what happens next or help out your own buddy Terry.
@WarriorDobby457 hudson? I thought it was terry since they named it tarrey town.. huh... i can't believe i forgot and got his name wrong...

The best part of this song is that it gets better and better as you listen. Thanks for putting this together!
Really excited to see how much Tarrey Town has grown as a village by the time the events of Botw 2 happens
Now that it's here, I hope you're not disappointed!
A very well made rendition! The bending notes of the Goron trombone parts are perfect!

I've seen a lot of your videos in my recommended, but this video finally sold me. Subbed.
This is epic! Torrey Town is my jam and making it 8-bit is even better! Love seeing how each variant layers into the song.
Totally used this as background music in my latest D&D video.
best side quest ever!!! love the characters
Ah ha! That pixel art on the bottom shows a red Zora! I am going to find you and finish Tarrey Town once and for all!!!!
Alkmi the location of where he is located it rather a no brainer.
Manaphan I’m gonna bet you found it, good job : )
Definitely was not expecting all the variants, outstanding work on this one
I never thought that this song evolved that way as we went through that quest. Great adaptation !!!

This song is exactly the same as tarrey town music. Great job!!!!
i love the song, but that doesnt change the fact that bolson needs to get the hell of my lawn

I love how the song evolves with each of the characters :D
I swear to god if something happens to Tarrey town in the sequel. I'm gonna fucking bawl. Tarrey Town is TOO PURE.
Truly amazing work! Don't tarry now...
4:24-4:34 is the best part to hear, in this and the regular track.
idk why i never noticed the towns music evolve as new residence moved in. always loved the tarry town quest line though because of everything done in the game, this was one of the few things that felt like you had an actual effect on the world
I swear, if I don’t get to see Tarry Town in the sequel, I’m going to riot
It’s there
I almost teared up at the gerudo part. Its so beautiful
I heard this on someones twitch stream and loved it. Forgot who it was, but so good, had to search it out.
I'm exceptionally impressed
Absolutely beautiful.
Love the time and effort you put into this!
I love the sprites in the lower left omg 😊
I've been waiting!
Probably my favorite town theme in the game, and this is my favorite version. :)
The best part is how it gets added to and how u gotta piece stuff together for the whole thing
I'd always notices the music building up but I'd never noticed it's the different races themes being put together
I love how this song has a little something for each character.
i was waiting for thisss
Wait how did I never notice that when a character Is added their race's theme is added to the town's
Oh my goodness I was so disappointed with this song when it started. Only for it to get 1000 times better. Keep on doing what you do man, you're great.
Fantastic music, may have to seek out this quest now
Can we agree that 8:18 through 8:47 is the best part in this entire song?
Cuz I can do that.
This is just so relaxing to listen to 😊
This song is a melting pot and I love it so much.
Watched before I completed tarry town and now I ccame back after doing it and I think I appreciate it more.
