That right there is a whole Box Of Nope.
Bigtime Nope.
Hell to the no no no nope.
At least it would instantly stop your heart and you wouldn’t suffer very much, most likely. They’re very lucky to not be touched by that
No amount of cash could get me to do it. I admire those guys brass balls tho.
They are not grounded there for they can not be electrocuted if u understand how electricity works it is not dangerous at all as long as it is done right even if that ark of electricity did touch them it wouldn't hurt them at all cause they are not grounded and without a ground to complete the circuit electricity is harmless that's why u see squirrels running on powerlines all the time and it don't hurt them unless they end up touch the ground wire at the same time as the live wire then it is game over for little squirrelly do a lil research about electricity and u might find it very fascinating the way it works
My hats down to u guys. U have balls of diamond's no way in hell would i ever try this in my life.
That's why they make big bucks
@@kennethjelnicki5311 that's right. I make 158k a year and all I needed was my big balls
@@mrpndaman129 that's not nearly enough buddy , for that risk might as well sell drugs Nd make the REAL big money.
Balls of diamond's _what?_
@@sourbrothers73 its the best type of balls to have. Those people with balls of steel are super jelly, especially when they can't reach enough danger to get the diamond set. Its like 5mil minimum I believe. The steel ones are only 200 danger level.
That lineman work is no joke! Be easy boys!🙏
That's the first job I've seen with diapers in the list of PPE required.
Hahaha hahaha hahaha, NO KIDDING A HOLE BOX
So You don’t have to go up and down and if you get electrocuted you don’t piss on everything
Is that for real?
You lineman are crazy. I’m just a wireman, my voltage doesn’t jump that far.
Me too brother, this shits crazy
Same. Agreed.
👍🏽😬I’ll stick with 480V or Lower!
What happened why did it spark can you explain please. And any of you guys interested in making some xtra cash how bout free electric for da BaDa Bing' and free Bing girls for you.
I work with electric all day even 3 Faze or 420 volts and thats scary at times
I would need a 6 week vacation to Costa Rica after that
Sorry Gary I will clean the bucket when we get down.
And your boots.
Glenn Ianuale lol
😆😆😆😁
U made me lol LITERALLY
Gary: Wadaya mean *Sorry
Glenn?* I have it up to my eyeballs 😭.
There ain't enough trees on this earth needed to make the paper big enough to make the check to pay me to do that job.
There is i believe in you
Ya they literally weld the load line to the live wire, which I believe is around 10,000 volt ac or more.
Man. These guys just don’t get enough recognition.
I respect the people who does that type of work
men..
@@alext192 why just men? I’ve seen women in the same line of work
@@xeon6038 my apologies
Thats exactly why those guys make bank they deserve every penny they earn and then some
Haven't you heard though. The police are ones you're supposed to be grateful for. I mean they "put their lives on the line every day." All weighted down with body armor and weapons and backup and radio's. Pepper spray, tasers, clubs and attack dogs. Not like these cowards who go up it a bucket while it's still lightning outside, armed only with a couple of sticks and a harness to play with already deadly voltage. So that people wont be without their microwaves and TVs.
@@winstonsmith993 i look up to police officers as well not all cops are bad cops most are decent humans that are getting lumped in with the bad cops because they wear the same uniform

I would have turned that bucket into a toilet if I was up there. No thanks. I appreciate the men and women that do this work.
Holy shit that was frigging hilarious. Lmfao
Men usually. Women don't usually do blue collar work.
@@notwhoyouare1543 I can honestly say I've never even heard of a female lineman. Line....person.....whatever. Lol
@Adolf Hitler Adolf Hitler was such a bitch he had to have others kill people for him.
Woman? Where lmao
Do it 100 times or even 1000 times...still feels like the first time every time!
If only this applied to marriage... ;0)
It better feel like the first time everytime otherwise it means you lost the healthy respect for electricity and thats when accidents happen
I applied for A high-voltage electrician job. And I was bummed when I didn’t get it. Now I know it was a blessing in disguise.
Thank You Linemen!!! Yall are more appreciated than you know. Great work🍻🇺🇸👍👍
Now that's a dangerous job! So I give my respects to anyone who works hard &/or dangerous jobs such as this!!
Ahhhh the smell of ozone in the morning!!! Did it for forty years! Enjoying the retirement now!
I think I'd really enjoy this job. And if this many people think it's crazy and there's no shortage of power outages, it's gotta be a position in demand, right?? What requirements might I expect?
@@MackSmooth not sure of today's requirements but when I was hired by ConEdison in 1970 they had few. Once hired you could do overhead which is what you see here, underground,I&A which was all the associated underground equipment like transformers and switchgear along with individual services to feed power to buildings or the cable dept that serviced and installed the heavy underground feeder cables. When first hired into the overhead you are expected to assist guys like these fellows by assembling and making equipment and wire ready for their use. This requires a good amount of time on the job. And most importantly these guys most likely started " in the hooks". That is climbing utility poles with gaffs and a safety belt. No bucket truck for a beginner! That aspect is physically very demanding. I personally loved it. But at approximately 140 lbs and being 18 I was invincible. If you carry more body weight expect to go home at the end of the day quite tired with sore feet and legs.
@@MackSmooth and the other part of you question is a definite yes,the craft is highly in demand. Through out my career we were" lent out" to other utilities hit by storms who needed assistance to restore power. The pay is excellent on these excursions and you usually are put up in a good hotel for the duration of your stay and "carte blanche" at whatever restaurant would feed thirty or so hungry guys who had worked a 12hr day. I was once away to upstate NY for an ice storm that lasted almost the entire month of January. The "$3000 plus per week checks made for paying off a rather nice Christmas for my three girls with the signing of one or two of those. At retirement my pay was just approaching $50+ an hour and all overtime was 150% standard pay.
@@Mr39036ce wow I appreciate it! Honesty i didn't expect such a well thought out and informative response.
@@MackSmooth you're quite welcome.Another line construtor is always good to have for any large utility. If you are of a mind to find a trade rather than a college type career then this may be a good choice. A few friends were pleasantly surprised to find that a relocation of their family toanothe state would not e tail a search for a job as just a call to the utility in the area of the desired move got a " sure, come on over" response better than 90% of the time. My pop always gave good advice and his was "if you don't want to be a college boy, learn a trade! There will always be food on the table,a roof over your family and you'll be way ahead of the bill collector"! PS bought a new car( 72' 4spd RoadRunner) after my second year on the job. And I did pretty good when the girls would ask " what do you do for a living ?" Sure as hell beat " well, I work at the ShopRite".
So many people watching this video right now have absolutely no clue how close these men are from death
You should go lick a power socket I'm pretty sure people understand that something that's buzzing and looks like lighting doesn't fuckin tickle asshole
I don't agree.. I feel like most people realize how dangerous this is.
I would think with their training and proper tools... That they're not. A lot of people deal with very dangerous things in their professions.. But that's why they're professionals.
A typical alkaline double A has a nominal voltage of 1.5v. A single LiPo cell has 3.7v and powers your phone. Deadly house AC current is at 240v (or 2 rails split into 120v). Electricity jumps an air gap of just a few inches at 1500v. These guys are farting around with 138,000v and I have no idea what the amperage is through those lines.
@@SmDJeremy also the angle is misleading as to how far they actually are from the hot lines.
My thanks and respect for all those who work at these dangerous jobs. Just so that we may be more comfortable...
I don't know what kind of money these guys make, whatever it is, it ain't enough!
Oh, and a huge thank you to all the lineman and line women out there!

There is a guy that works for a local Union power contractor near us. When he was an apprentice he got his entire arm fried clean off. He still works with the best of them.
Glad to these brave men wearing sunglasses, to protect their eyes from that super bright arc.
That's a pretty high pucker factor to begin with. During the light show they made mud.
F that no way no how. I met a guy while in the hospital getting grafts for 3rd degree burns. He was an electrician and got shocked with 440a while working on a panel and survived . The shock cooked his bones . Nasty shit
Arc Flash!
Thank you for doing a job nobody wants to do. Unbelievable amounts of electricity.

Screw that. No damn way I fo this on purpose and often. Balls of steel or brains of oatmeal either way hats off to these guys
My uncle once tried to jury rig one of these so he could save $80 a month.
For his barn
His keys were hanging out of his pouch and touched the coil.
He fell 20 feet, died, hit the ground, the landing restarted his heart, he uses a shirt and duct tape to put his intestines back in, drove himself to the hospital.
And 3 weeks later tried again.
He was 50 then.
Hes 79 now.
And, well he'd likely do it again if he were still capable of climbing poles like a bear.
My grandpa had a similar thing
This is something being done daily in alot of 3rd world country , when my friend used to do it I used to tease him call him fried chicken 🤣
Kinda reminds me of my best friend, she had a heart attack driving on the highway one day and crossed the median just so happen she was wearing a halter monitor due to having some heart issues they were trying to get a handle on so we know exactly what her heart was doing. We believe the impact from the air bag was what cause her heart to restart.

Omg. Balls of steel
Great video. Checkout the guy who do it hanging off the side of a helicopter 🚁. Savages!

A normal elektric shock is already painful,
My dad did this for a few years in the late '50s early '60s. About half this load, tagged out breaker got reset and it killed him for a few minutes. The next month he moved into home and office construction...
