rarely have i heard a cover of such an iconic song be at once true to the original in its execution as well as a stunning reinterpretation. if billy corgan has heard this I'll wager he's proud.
If that is a Godin...I picked up one just like it at Guitar Center a year ago or so and played it for 10 minutes or so...absolutly fell in love with it....the action, looks, and sound were fantastic...as soon as my ship comes in I would like to get one.
Their vocal blend and chemistry is mind-blowing. And they look at each other a lot when they sing :P how do they focus?! Haha the golden standard in musicality. These guys are incredible
I'm so glad you did, too! If you get a chance to see them live, definitely go! No video can do their live performances justice. They are simply amazing.
@TheRealDannyE I'm so glad you found the video! Thanks for watching! You will not regret buying that ticket. They are absolutely amazing live. Prepare to be spellbound!
BMoney985, I think you are talking about the session they did for Paste Magazine. If so just go to their site and search for 'Disarm' on there and up it will pop. It really is imo THE definitive live version of this cover (but they are ALL incredible).
Pretty sure they got back together. They released an album this past June when they announced their hiatus in 2012. The song Disarm is actually on their newest album.
At this moment, I have three tabs open: The Civil Wars tour date, a cart with a ticket to see them in Louisville, Kentucky... and this video. I was hedging on seeing them because I know I shouldn't spend the money, but I also won't have a chance to see them this close to where I live in months. Maybe a year. This video didn't just tip me over to one side, it threw me off the fence completely. Ticket: purchased.
I never go to concerts alone, but I'll go alone just to see them when they come to Stockholm this christmas for sure. I can't help my friends have terrible taste in music.
I know the possibilities of you guys even remotely reading this is infintismal, but i just want to say directly to you, that you are my motivation to keep up this bull shit rat race , your love for music(each other ) makes it all worth it
This has got to be my absolute favorite cover by anyone EVER!!! I love The Civil Wars and Im so glad I just happened to come acrossed them one day!!
I'm watching this is 2015 and it still makes get to the brink of tears

John Paul is such a beast. To see one of my favorite bands covering another one of my favorite bands is awesome. : )

Oh this. This right here is awesome.
Where was this Angel, when I lived in Frisco?...Still in school no doubt.
Their perfect
Every song they cover is better than the original in my honest and most humble opinion. Goosebumps and blushing eardrums.
Great cover - its not often people give great music a great revival to a new set of listeners ......they did it here
@yobhsiFehT I'm so glad you found it! Thanks for watching! (Sorry, I don't have any info on the guitar).
"If you don't, we wrote it." I love his humor.
won't be too long before people are covering y'all.... :D
"if u dont we wrote it " LOL that cracked me up
Pretty sure they got back together. They released an album this past June when they announced their hiatus in 2012. The song Disarm is actually on their newest album.
I hope that they can work through their issues and the band can get back together because the music they create is my absolute favorite.
I always end up welling up when I listen to this cover, so amazing! Does anyone know if there's any tabs for this version?
Is there a chance they will ever come to Brazil?
"...And if you don't, we wrote it." Classic. haha
@rhtchilipepper I suppose you'd call (010020) a Gsus4, but that would be (310023); i guess it's close enough. Thanks for posting this though!

@manningmbd WHERE??!!!
What happened to the really good video of this cover song. There was a high quality one before and now it has been made private! WTF!
The Civil Wars? I thought their name was the Civil 'Freaking the Best Ever' Wars.
I want that guitar =| Anyone know the model??
More importantly, this is a great performance of a great song:D Thanks for posting!
Man they create some serious overtones
I never go to concerts alone, but I'll go alone just to see them when they come to Stockholm this christmas for sure. I can't help my friends have terrible taste in music.
I really wish this were true, but, unfortunately, they are still on indefinite hiatus.
Unfortunately for everyone, that won't happen anytime soon since the group is on indefinite hiatus.
