My mother worked for Mr Mehau when I was younger and she always would say Mr Mehau is a good man... He always helped us. No matter what it was.

I don’t know why, but I found this channel, I am from N.Y.C, Hawaii is another world to me, but it’s kinda the same, where I grew up it was pretty rough, my block was full of drug dealers, but believe it or not they were good guys, we didn’t have a good father, but there were older guys that kept us on the straight line, love this story, and glad I found your channel, good luck !

We need someone like Unko Mehau to regulate all the Haoles that is buying and raising the homes here. No way would these Haoles with money would get away with the crap they are pulling off. Someone needs to come forward and take Hawaii back for the Hawaiians!! One way is to not share our culture with them and to be very weary before giving them any aloha!! The typical Haole move would be to befriend the Locals only to gain something in the future. Remember history repeats itself!! Hawaiians it’s coming the Haoles going try take over Hawaii again!

My opinion Uncle Larry Mehau (note: Elders are considered Uncle's or Aunties in Hawaiian heritage (Or ways). would have sit downs with these organized street heads or gang leaders and let them know on a legal level what was the outcome if they were to continue the actions being carried out by their organization. Politically uncle Larry knew what the Republican and Democratic authorative parties didn't want happening in the streets of Honolulu Hi. This action was not leaking any information out but painting a picture of the future with legal overtones for these so called crime figures. Being a mediator as in Uncle's case lead to a lot of political hatred being generated in the media slandering uncle Mehau's good name not to mention Uncle's ohana pressured by these assertions even after Uncle's death. (My opinion) I myself understand Uncle's direction for Hawaii's future orthodox and modern though it was such a mixture worked for the hawaiian public but not for hawaii's political adversaries mainly Governmental sympathizers who's interest throughout the decades up until now isn't for the Kanaka Maoli. Aloha&Mahalo from a true follower of Uncle Larry's footsteps. My sympathy goes out to the Mehau Ohana for such a great loss. I hope this book helps you folks. [Dukieboy 2018]

Uncle what happen you could’ve got us Kanaka maoli land to build and remain self sustaining. Honolulu is so bad it’s amazing 2016-17 I was there. But anyway I do keep in touch through fb with Unko Larry’s Son Tom good guy. I still have hope for our future. Aloha&mahalo for the interview.
