Joe sang lead when they re-recorded it for the Cracker Barrel CD, which can be found on RUclips. I prefer Steve’s hit version, not just for the vocal but the whole arrangement. But you can’t blame these guys for not letting a good song die. PS-I think Joe had a cold for this show.
I know in the beginning of August, Richard was still having problems and Joe and William had a cold or either a sinus infection. I know they were worried about having to cancel a few shows, but they never had to.
@@BackupChannel12Steve recorded Thank God For Kids because Capitol Records wouldn't sign them unless they agreed to do so. Steve also likely got permission from William Lee. It was also an Oak Ridge Boys signature song, not just William lee. Besides it would have been disrespectful to Steve Sanders fans for Golden to cover one of his hits.
@@highnrising No he doesn't. He also sings lead on Trying To Love Two Women, I Wish You Could Have Turned My Head, among others. No need to trash WLG because you prefer Singin' Steve.
Steve Sanders sang lead on this when they 1st released it. I wonder why William Lee didn't sing lead here ???

Because William Lee is no Steve Sanders. He only sings lead on "Thank God For Kids."
