Cheaper, faster, and easier than sending it in with near perfect results.
Here is the lens I'm using from AliExpress, but there are many more options on their site you can try, I assume they are all the same.
I also see them on eBay.

This is a really outstanding video, it's the best recipe I've seen yet. But-- DO NOT use superglue. I applied a thin bead of Gorilla super glue at the outer edge of the black bottom of the lens. It outgassed over a period of days and completely clouded the inside of the lens. Also, when I pushed the lens down-- IT SNAPPED IN. Insta360 used some kind of lens adhesive to seal it, but it was NOT superglue. And it did not release with heat.
Thanks for the heads up! You may have saved me (and others) from making this mistake in the future!

So I have a scratch in my insta 360 One X2 and I'm researching ways to replace the lens. What if you scratched up the bad lens more to get the super glue to stick to the initial bad lens? Think that would work better getting it out?

What does the image look like without the lens, does it serve any function other than protection ?
My x2 flew ouut of my cara roof and scratched just one lens due to the braking of the suport. Its noticeable the back lens scratch. I dont have repair skills so I afraid I will mess ot up. I will save your video. Thanks for taking the time to do it
Just had a fall today, both lenses got scratched... Very bummbed, but do you the think if I used suction cups to remove the lense at first?
I love my insta360. But the lenses are very exposed, the protectors they sell don't work, and it's super easy to scratch them. i've tried polishing my lens, but it still didn't look good. I will try this.

No super glue. Others have reported issues with super glue. I have been running mine press fit with no glue.

This, I sadly don't have a good answer for yet. I would first try something softer than super glue, but I'd recommend getting a 2nd opinion.
@@LAHover it’s all good I can’t use any I was able to see open up the lens the inner lens was where the damage was so I’m just gonna order a new one so I have 2 brand new lenses for sale lol
If you have to do it again you should get some suction cup and heat it up with a heat gun. This is what people do with phones that have the backs glued on. Another option is to find a sturdy suction cup and glue it to the lens and try to yank it off. You may need to combine it with heat also. You can also drip isopropyl alcohol and have it break down the glue. Let the alcohol evaporate before turning on though. Just a warning on using alcohol though is that some plastics will react to it and get ruined. Ruined a mechanical keyboard doing that trying to get a key to stop messing up.
Is there a difference between the front and back replacement lenses? I saw a couple of different replacement lenses. :)
Would a mobile phone glue adhesive work? Something like T-7000

At first I was thinking about super glue, but I think something softer may be better if you ever need to remove it again.

Heat gun and a really small pryer will do the job. Thats how I fixed mines.

You're right with what you said about Insta360....they are way too intrusive, asking so many permissions, and also forcing you to use camera with app..i would prefer just a simple camera as you say, to record video or make pictures on SD card and download them in my laptop or phone without so many stupid programs and their app....

you can use the camera without the app. I used to never use the app...
@@wildfuture.network maybe you bought used. Because a brand new insta 360 will not let you record unless you register through the app.
@@LAHover once registered though you can uninstall the app... i never use the app i use the desktop software.

Other viewers have recommended a heat gun and wet suction cup/pry tool.
It did not seem to be glued in by much. So as long as you can somehow get a good grip on it, it should pop out relatively easy.
I tried heat gun and several tools to get that lens to pop loose and nothing. I've been reading all the comments and have tried so many times but nothing. Mine must be held by the blood of Jesus or something because it won't budge! Ugh so annoying

I know its a stretch. If you cant find any suction tools maybe you can try a foam dart with suction cups? For example a nerf dart?
