      @meg8987 3 года назад +34

      This is100% accurate and I think folks need to consider the healing commitment on this one before getting it done. It was immensely painful to lay on my right side for a full 6 months after getting my industrial done and it's also the only piercing of the 16 I have that developed scarring (which I did get rid of). Even so, here I am years later with a fully healed industrial that to date is my favorite of anything I have done!

      I'm not sure if I just lucked out..but my industrial didn't hurt..and I can't even feel it now. Its really weird..I'm still super careful though. My piercer was awesome. I will forever go to Logan, he's the only one I trust with my ears. 😁 Mr. Scott I've gotten almost all that I want. Now just need a daith then I've got them all. I’ve never found someone else that got their industrial pierced as young as I did! I got mine done when I was 13 too, and I completely relate on not realizing how hard/long it would be to heal it up properly. The worst part about healing it for me was brushing my hair; Ive had fairly long hair for most of my life, and whenever I would brush it the teeth on the brush would hook on the bar and it would get pulled which was extremely painful. After a while I would remember to hold my hair on the pierced side away from my head when I brushed it, but it was a bitch nonetheless. That said, I also still have my industrial and it’s my favorite of my piercings!

    My first ever piercing was a scaffolding industrial. I had done a ton of research so I knew what to expect, but unfortunately it didn’t end up working out to well.
    The piercer did it at an odd angle and put in too short of a barbell. I had it for a little over a year with it never healing. It was always sore and had bumps. I loved it sm but ended up taking it out.
    I want to get it redone by a better piercer, but I’m scared of finding a crappy one with “good reviews” like last time, so I’m paranoid about getting stuck with a bad piercer again 💀

    Mine healed so well that it absolutely made my piercer's day when we changed the jewellery after one year (I didn't have the time to go earlier). I've seen this piercing get infected horribly, but I got lucky and never had any problems - despite grandma accidentally smacking that ear when giving me a happy hug two days after it was pierced :')
    It healed WAY, way easier than the four lobes I got from a piercing gun (never making that mistake again lol). Now I know that I should've probably done more, but during healing I only really cleaned it once after bathing it in cold chamomile tea.
    Oh also I'm currently looking through the playlist of this series for research purposes (I want more ear piercings), it's incredibly helpful, thank you for this!! :)

    I got an industrial piercing when I was 16 (I'm 21 now) and it took SO LONG to completely heal. At first it was healing perfecly and very fast, but after 3 months it got stuck in my mom's hair and she almost ripped my entire ear off. After that it started to hurt often and it developed bumps/scars that I still have to this day even tho I was very meticulous with the cleaning (I cleaned it like 3 times a day for over a year). The bumps/scars are also probably my headphones fault bc at the time I had to keep them on most of the time :/
    Other than that, getting it pierced didn't hurt at all for me, but laying on it hurt for a long time and almost getting my ear ripped off hurt like hell

    • @notagoodgamer6156
      @notagoodgamer6156 3 года назад +4

      That was my main issue with it, my hair would always get caught in it, it was my most painful piercing and the longest to heal! I had a huge keloid at one point and it took me a few months but I gradually was able to shrink it till it was gone using tea tree oil. I would soak a q-tip and hold it on the scarred tissue for about 30 seconds everyday. I had to take it out to get a cat scan one day and I thought it had healed at this point cause I had it for over a year but I left my bar out for like two weeks and I have a thin layer of skin over the holes. I'm hoping to get it re-pierced but I don't want to deal with my hair catching it lol it's seriously annoying.

    I got my industrial piercing a few months ago. I'd say getting the actually piercing was a 5/10 just because you have to get pierced twice however my ear kind of went numb for the second one so it just felt like one big piercing. However the pain of healing it after was worse. The number of times that I've hit it just by hugging someone at a wrong angle is insane. I haven't had any problems with it other than that though. It did get infected once and I had to take out the piercing to clean it but after that it went right back in and I haven't had a problem with it since. Be careful of germs and don't sleep on it are my two main tips for this piercing. And clean it regularly!

      Out of the 16 piercings I have my industrial was the only one to develop keloids. Several small ones formed at both piercing sites, however I had really good luck with using tea tree oil on them. I'd put a few drops on the keloids in the morning and at night and after a few days of this they'd disappear. I repeated this any time they popped up and once the piercing was fully healed they stopped forming altogether. I've had my industrial keloid-free for nearly 10 years now. (:

    Had an industrial 3 years ago, I had it for around 3 months and wondered why it hurt no matter what happened even if nothing touched it. Ended up finding out the holes were not aligned properly so there was a permanent tug while having the barbell in. Also had keloids that turned green and purple, had my mom take it out because the sensitivity to do it myself was killing me. Felt instant relief after.
    TLDR: Make sure you get this piercing at a shop that is certified because not every shop will do it, at least in my experience not every shop I went too would. The pain for me was at most a 6-7 out of 10

    Got this done today along with a daith piercing didn’t actually hurt me much really maybe because I had surgery on my ears before so might have built up a high pain tolerance. Delighted with it definitely my most favourite piercing. Great video too it made me decide to go for it as I was scared at first

    Honestly the pain was maybe a 4/10 for the second part but overall not terrible. I had bumps on both ends of mine for the first 3-4 months. I got it in June and in September I got my daith pierced. My piercer offered to “juice” the bumps on the industrial (basically just took a needle to it) since I was constantly cleaning it, never had my hair down, never messed with it, etc but the bumps still remained even though they no longer hurt, they were just kinda there. Cut to two weeks after that and there are no bumps left and a month after when I went back for my nostril piercing the industrial was pretty much healed. So 4-5 months total

    i got my industrial for my birthday almost 2 years ago now. it was one of my top dream piercings and i was afraid i wasn't going to have the anatomy (or permission from my stepmom and dad since i was turning 16). funny story, my stepmom did the ol "ask your father" because she didnt want to say yes but didnt want to be the one to say no. so i asked my dad and he was like "yeah totally!!! i think those are so cool!" so that kinda backfired for her LOL. so i got it a couple weeks after my 16th birthday and i was able to get the traditional anti-helix to helix because i have the anatomy :^)

    My industrial was my first piercing except for the lobes and I truly wish I had done more research first. It was an impulsive decision and I was very stupid. I've had it for a year and two weeks now and it's still not fully healed. But it barely hurts and seems to be doing okay. I really do love my industrial and don't regret getting it done, I just really wish I got it done later and that I did proper research first

    I've had it done twice now after it closed up, first time it took a while because of sport (seriously, the number of times a basketball hit it, I'm surprised it did actually heal). Second time I got it done masks really messed it up. Not too painful, just very annoying to deal with

    I had my industrial piercing for 3 years, it always itched at night and hurt a little bit all these years. Then just a month ago i didnt notice it growing tissue on the hole i have at the top closest to my hair, i took it out and realized i have a HUGE keloid . It makes me very insecure and its not just the small keloid at the top ,the whole top part of my ear grew alot of cartilage, its scary to look at :p

    I have had mine for a little over a year now and it still gets agitated from time to time just depends on how I sleep or how I wear my hair. I would also recommend people who have long hair to be extra careful with getting it cause it gets tangled in the bar very easily. Also I have to take it out to brush my hair. But other than that. The healing process for me was 8 1/2 months to be able to completely change the bar. Oh and the pain level was making me second guess having it done 😂

    Got mine since yesterday..Painlevel : 5 got also a new proper daith, that painlevel :5.... My piercer is fantastic.. The manager of the piercing shop gives not a good advice to the clients, he recommands to use tea tree oil with aspirin 🤯🤯 My piercer said : Don't do that, only use a saline spray and take aleve or paracetamol for a few days to relieve the swelling and pain.. A piercing needs some air to heal, so don t cover it. My 2 piercings are placed in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.. My piercer did it so quick en very steril. The only pain i had was when he put the jewelery in my daith and industrial. Didn t feel the needles.. And i have also Fucidin 2% creme( antibiotic) when its irritaded or infected.. I have a piercing/donut pillow to sleep..

    it’s crazy bc i got both sides done at the same time n although my piercer looked at me v surprised and asked me twice, she didn’t really explain her reaction. prior to getting pierced i just did basic research so this was rlly an impulse piercing… i wish someone would’ve been louder abt how much the healing process SUCKSSSS
    it took abt a year to fully heal bc my family is notorious for noogies or cupping each other’s face.. so my poor ears suffered at family parties.. but otherwise! i rarely did aftercare .. just washed w water n mild soap here and there as well as getting a donut pillow so i can sleep on my side
    it’s almost 3 yrs w them n they’re still my favs ever! worth it.. i might get a second one so at least one ear can hav an X
    since i got industrials i’m rlly not scared w all the new piercings i have in mind :3

    I love my industrial so much, but I am on the verge of just taking it out and letting it close over. It's been two years, and while I think it is mostly healed, it gets irritated often. It's just such a pain (literally).
    Edit: the pain when I first got it done wasn't that bad, but definitely worse than an earlobe piercing. I found the initial pain when the needle went in was the worst, and that's over pretty quickly.

    My industrial is the biggest pain in my ass, I had a regular scaffold piercing done about 6weeks ago, I love how it looks but it’s a pain. The worst part about it was probably the fact that my ears are so small and not shaped right, instead of telling me I didn’t have the right anatomy the piercer did it anyway. After 4 days the pain was extreme so extreme that I went to a different piercer who told me the anatomy of my ear wasn’t right and it was cutting in. I went back to the original lady who offered to move the holes 🤦🏽‍♀️ but I refused. I contemplated taking it out, but I’m a stubborn fucker, so I chose to just ride it out and keep cleaning it, I purchased a new piece of jewellery with a chain to take the pressure off, but as it’s still healing I haven’t changed the bar out yet. The pain is now only a 2 but for the first 3 weeks it was a solid 8, I’m committed to it now and I will continue to look after it
