BGT 2008 winner streetdancer George Sampson recaps on his story and competes against other Got Talent stars from the UK and other countries in a semifinal of this international competition from Wembley Arena, London.

George Sampson is a street dancer who won Britain’s Got Talent’s second series in 2008, with his performance to Singin’ in the Rain, by Mint Royale in the final.
George first appeared in BGT series 1, but despite getting yesses from all the judges did not make it to the semifinal. He successfully re-auditioned the next year and then went on to win his semifinal on the public vote after dancing while being drenched on stage by a rain machine. At the last minute, George decided to reprise his Singin’ in the Rain performance in the final, beating Bhangra dance duo Signature and boy soprano Andrew Johnston to take first place.
After his BGT win, George Sampson appeared at T4 on the Beach, on a number of TV shows and in the West End hip-hop musical Into the Hoods. He was also signed by BGT judge Simon Cowell’s Syco label and sang as well danced in his own music videos, and in 2010 starred in the 3D feature film StreetDance 3D, alongside dance troupes Diversity and Flawless, who had both been in the Britain Got Talent final the year after George’s victory.
Apart from his dancing, George sampson has had a acting career including parts in BBC drama series Waterloo Road and ITV soap Emmerdale.

I agree with Simon- he has always been one of my best remembered acts on the show. And I also remember his tearful announcement that his doctors told him not to dance anymore. So nice to see his comeback!

11 years ago he was just a kid trying to win some money so he will be able to live a normal life with his family but after he won he became a superstar

OMG. What a talented dancer George is. It's a thrill to see him all grown up and handsome and still one of the best dancers ever. I hope George and his mum thrive and continue their journey through life healthy and happy.
I love how it told his story. First kid was him on the streets 2nd kid was him on the first season not making it 3rd kid was him winning the second season, him hurting his back and him now and showing his talent.

All I can say is that I'm so glad I didn't back out of meeting George Sampson three years ago at the Glapwell carnival. It was a pleasure to meet him. He was so nice to me and my family. He's phenomenal, 15 years to this day. He's gonna be dancing until the day he dies.

11 years ago I had a small RUclips channel called NotJustAlan. When I saw George's 2008 BGT audition I remembered him from the previous year and immediately uploaded it, and then his semi and final appearances. Very soon I had a very large RUclips channel, and was even thanked for my efforts by Simon Cowell's Syco team. I eventually lost that channel, but without George and my NotJustAlan channel, there would not have been NotJustTWO.
