Making a Difference With Humble Design

Humble Design is a national organization that helps families, individuals, and veterans transition out of homelessness by transforming empty dwellings into fully furnished homes. Led by Sheryl Schulze, Gensler Principal and Chicago Board Chair of Humble Design, Gensler’s support of the organization has spanned five years, with involvement growing to other cities.
To date Humble Design has furnished more than 3,000 homes nationwide since its inception, with 700 of those serving Chicago’s south and west sides. Recently, a team of designers participated in a series of service days to plan and install a customized interior for a Chicago family.
