Check out the love between Kay Kyser and the beautiful Georgia Carroll. He was 15 years older and swept her off her feet. They were happily married until he died in 1985.
Thank you Stantony for this! So classy and uplifting. My mom and used to sing this when Dad was in Guam. Love the makeup women wore in those days. Happy memories.
Enjoyed watching and believing what Georgia was singing after watching the excitement and animation by Kay...I am sure they had a great life together in Chapel Hill!
I was in a rock band with a drummer who had a dad who played brass in a swing band in the 1940's, one of the popular outfits of the da8, I forget the name, told me most of the down time was drinking and cards.
That's his theme song, "I've Grown so Lonesome." When that came on the radio in the 1930s and 40s, you knew who it was. ruclips.net/video/geRKp2uuLCM/видео.html
Kay Kyser. One of the only known conductors with a pep in his step and a great sense of humor while performing
Consider introducing yourself to Cab Calloway. If you like pep and humor, I think you will enjoy.
Kay could easily talk with any of his quiz show contestants. Give him credit for that too.
What an ensemble! How could a venue afford to book such a large (albeit, fantastic) group? Now, we're down to a single act with a laptop :-(
Wow, a voice as sweet as her smile, what a face. A lucky man was he!

They don't write them like this today.
Georgia is certainly pretty and has a good voice, but I will take Julie Conway hands down...
If only we could have entertainment like that today
Grew up hearing Kay Kyser and his College of Musical Knowledge and the Quiz Kids on the radio.
I was looking forward to hearing this, but alas, no sound.
