What do you think of the ClickUp onboarding experience? Am I being too harsh, or is it actually super confusing? Side note -- if you're watching this video AFTER creating a ClickUp account and you've accidentally created multiple ClickUp Workspaces, you're always able to contact ClickUp Support to get their help in merging the two! :)
I know this is n old video, but gosh is this actual GOLD!! Signed up today for ClickUp to start our agency and moving away from Notion, but had no idea how complex it could be. But the way you broke this down helped a bunch!!! Great explanation and clear advice - You've got a new subscriber! :)
Signing up to ClickUp now and I think they have improved the onboarding experience. This is nice because it means they listen to feedback and keep improving the app!
Thank you for these videos. They are clear and concise. However, I found that I had to slow the speed down to .75 in order to actually have the time to hear and digest the information. Not sure if you actually talk that fast? or if it is a RUclips thing? But once I slowed it, it was great!
I think you’ve made a very smart move offering ‘How to’ support for ClickUp. I think it’s going to be a while before their passion for adding shiny new things is matched by their desire to contemplate a coherent, customer-centric, UX ;-) Still worth the pain, but customers encounter that pain a little too often, and much of it could be avoided if the development team spent more time observing customers and walking in their shoes rather than hacking cool new features. Time for some end-to-end consolidation to build strong foundations for the next phase, Team ClickUp: please don’t geek yourselves out of a potentially excellent business!
Hi Shay, I appreciate you saying this! You've quite accurately described my perspective as well. I have faith they'll come around with the right (vocal) encouragement! You'll see a lot of that come up in the recap I did on their 2021 product roadmap, if you haven't already seen it: ruclips.net/video/jNFE5OXBZ7g/видео.html
Love your personality! You're making this way less painful. :) Lol New sub! >> I am currently learning for my day job, but also starting a business, so I am seeing if I can use & not learn a new tool.
Hello Layla. thnaks for the videos, they are really helpful. A question: does click up has an option for hour, for each task, meaning i want to program this specific task at this specific hour of the day? Also i'm a bit confuse about agenda setting. can i use click up to agend meeting in a way that they apear in the agend view but not in the other views? thanks for your help
Hey Tiago! Great question! You can add a specific time to a task's Start or Due Date. This also works with a recurring task by setting the Due Date to a particular time. The agenda will show tasks Due for the date selected. The ability to customize the agenda view is not available as of today. However, there might be some new updates with ClickUp 3.0. The tasks in the agenda reflect the time a task is due if it's selected; otherwise, it shows tasks as "All Day" events.
Hi Layla, great video. Quick question, I have click up on my phone as an app and I also have it in widget form. I've created a space with a list of tasks scheduled to be completed in the coming days but I've noticed that the tasks scheduled for today in my space for does not show on the widget :/
You mentioned something about how to start up click up if you are the company owner but a member or a guest. Where can we find the tutorial about this? Thank you in advance.
This video goes through the new account process. If you're joining an existing account, you can skip to 8:57 in the video! We don't have a unique tutorial for that process (yet!).
Hey Nancy! Just getting caught up on comments🙈 When you've completed a checklist task, you'll see a "completed" box underneath. If you click that, you'll be able to see everything that has been completed :)
Great question! To turn on the Daily Digest emails, go into your notification settings by clicking on your Workspace avatar. From there, you'll want to enable Email notifications under the Start & Due Date section. Here you'll find the "Daily Due Date Summary Email" make sure to enable it. You can also select when to receive your Daily Digest email.
Great question! In hindsight, wish I would have added this in the video with a video walkthrough. Go to Settings > Notifications.> scroll until you see "Daily Due Dates summary email" -- about halfway through the long page! 😀
I'm attempting to follow your flow but there are no templates called Quickstart in my choices. I only have (7) canned templates like content, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
Hey Connie! It's very possible it's in a different location for you! You can manually locate it by clicking on the "+" next to your Space, as if you were to create a new Folder or List. From there, select "Use a Template" Then, scroll down until you see the "Getting Started" section. Inside this is the "Quick Start" template I referred to in this video. :)
Hi Tracey! Go to the photo in the bottom right and locate Settings. Inside it, you'll see "My Settings" where you'll have the option to stop using the "Personal Mode" of ClickUp. While you're in there (likely after you end the Personal Mode) you can also find a tab called 'People" and invite your team there as full members. If you want to invite your team as free quests instead, just search my channel -- I have a video all about how to invite Guests.
Your Workspaces is your OVERALL organization in ClickUp, typically your company name. If you're sure you want to delete it, go to Settings > Workspaces. You could also rename it, instead, if that helps.
It's possible, but only with a goofy amount of manual data entry OR some sophisticated third-party automation tools. It's not a setup I'd recommend at this point. I'd turn to dedicated bookkeeping tools OR more database-oriented tools like Airtable or SmartSuite if invoicing is a key requirement for you. :)
Sorry Sam :/ They're adding localization this year and there are quite a few French-speaking ClickUp consultants if you'd like to check them out: clickup.com/consultants
I am really trying to make clickup work but it is much more like a part-time job than a productivity tool for me. It is extremely complicated. Kind of like killing an aunt with a sledge hammer.
Hey J C! ClickUp definitely has a learning curve, but it can be super helpful once you find a flow that works for you! With that being said, ClickUp isn't for everyone. So if it isn't working out, there are many other project management tools out there that may fit your needs better. In fact, here's a video that may help: ruclips.net/video/NWOCexknEAk/видео.html
Unfortunately, this video is two years old and most of what is shown/reviewed is no longer valid. They have changed much of it around and I was lost since the majority of your video no longer applied.
CU could be so much more intuitive and visually appealing. It's not user friendly, and - frankly - if it wasn't for your videos, I would have walked away already. It's a shame bc it has real potential but feels like it was done in dark ages.... I hope CU can continue to improve it's usability, maybe even take lessons from ASANA (in design and simple, well organized usability although not as robust in features). Thanks for your work!
It certainly lacks a lot of the polish we've come to love in other SaaS tools -- totally agree! I do hope they continue to listen to their users and make an effort to make their tool more beginner-friendly. 😅
One of the problems with these tools is that they are so complicated that it's very difficult to get others on board. Typically in an office you have people with very different levels of comfort with technology. I once worked with a lady who had no idea there was a right click on mice. To get her to use this would be ask a chimpanzee to do a calculus problem
Hey J C! I understand that it can definitely be difficult to get your team to use ClickUp. Here's a video that may help: ruclips.net/video/aMu7j2SDsn4/видео.html

I'm currently torn between Clickup and Notion. Do you mind me asking what made the difference for you to pick Clickup? Thank you!
@greenbee09 ClickUp is less flexible and editable, which made it better for team usage in my tests! ☺️
Signing up to ClickUp now and I think they have improved the onboarding experience. This is nice because it means they listen to feedback and keep improving the app!
That’s exactly why we all love @ClickUp so much! 🥰

These are recorded in OBS Studio. :)
