I would like to thanks for this amazing tip, I'm self learner and wanted to see something very similar to this video and I hope from here I can make something i was looking for. thanks for your time and efforts.
In the first example both lines are symmetrical, but it doesn't matter whether they are semitris or not. You can adjust the blending object by changing the position of the anchor point later. If you want to make an asymmetrical shape like leaves or petals, I suggest using pentool.
found a better explanation. but notice this comment 1 year late lol. Blend tool connect every "dot in one line" to another "dot in second line". You usually see this in a bijective function. So the reason why we need to reverse one path is because the paths are corresponding in flipped direction. Thats the reason why from first path to the second path it gradually shrinks in size, *and then flip*(this is not visible in the video), then gradually increase in size to match the second path.
I didn't get it what you've done in 3:38 when you go out line mode select the two objects whats is the action you use 1sec later? To hide the archor points and exit outline mode?
So at 1:16 when you do the blend, only the left side of my shape does it, even tho I have the whole thing selected. When I was following along the first time, it worked, but now that I tried to do it myself by memory, i'm getting this problem, what did I do wrong? I've followed every step exactly as you did it, but only half the shape will "blend". Any pointers?
At 10:54 when you select similar objects, mind is not selecting the white background. I did the whole tutorial twice, and everything else exactly as it is in the video up to this step, but I cannot get the white parts to select. Not sure what he does that click on the yellow area just before selecting similar objects - am I missing something?
The idea is to choose the same color, you can use any background color when you making basic shapes. So with this technique you can choose objects with same color without having to select them one by one. If this technique doesn't work for you, I think there might be a difference in "Select Similar Option" go to Select similar Object, then click on the drop down arrow and try select All or just select Fill color
i've figured it out, just color picker ur flowers. the white spot and do exactly like the videos, its differrent color ,that's why it won't linked :D the black color is work to fill and got deleted
Hello, quick question. At 6:42 when you duplicate the petals they layer above each other. However, when I duplicate, I can still see the petals underneath. How can I layer the petals one on top of the other? Thank you.
actually there is two objects grouped in one petal, the solid white background and blending black lines. check at 02:50 when I create the petal, I think you're forgot to make a white background behind the black lines.
I'm using Illustrator CS6 and I don't believe there's an effective way to round the East and West corners to the proportions required here. Please prvoe me wrong.

Just AMAZING!
Neat, simple, clever and elegant !
Thank YOU man.this is AWESOME 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I'm confused how does refelcting that at 1:40 result in a completely different shape?
The first thing to remember, I just reflect one side of the blending object, this means I reverse the direction of the blending.
In the first example both lines are symmetrical, but it doesn't matter whether they are semitris or not. You can adjust the blending object by changing the position of the anchor point later.

@@froxical2128 You are damn right, though the two lines are apparently similar, however, the beginning of the path is not all from the top.
Thanks man thank you so much god bless you

Teach us to trace pictures please.. You know, to make logo out of picture..
Using illustrator ofc.. Thanks in advance 👍🏽👍🏽
9:27 i sometimes have problems with the trimming, it made the petals half white and half pattern

Thanks for this great tutorial. In the Whale illustration is looks like the whales' heads are curved. How do you do that?
Move little bit and Play with anchor point on the path tip, you can add one more anchor points if needed to make it curved.
good job
Thank you

it's perhaps because your objects are filled. Make sure to change the fill to none
