Great Podcast,4 or 5 losses was definitely coaching this past season,as Michigan showed in the bowl game you can be one dimensional and stick with it and win a game.they only passed for 75 yards in the whole game, this was great coaching on both sides of the ball and what was missing in the losses that AU had this year.Too much talent to finish 5-7 this year, thats concerning to me,,WDE!
Issue was critical downs. Every time the defense could key in if a play is high percentage run or pass pt or 26 would be blown up soon as they touched the ball and if oline held up any pr immediately was caught staring at the rush and would ball up.
Aye mike if they replace hunter are they going to give him the ball instead of passing on short yardage situations??? because that was a major issue this season
@TheWarRapport, what are your thoughts about the Offense and Defense possibly being good in the same season? If that happens, with this schedule, 10 games wouldn't be a stretch! JMO
Defense was solid BUT they’ve to get off the field on critical downs. Auburns issues was oline and pt along with young players missed assignments that show up on tape but avg fan doesn’t see during game but critical downs on both sides of the ball is what a keeping auburn from reaching its ceiling. Offense has to keep drives alive and defense has to give the offense more possessions. Better oline play along with a qb who can extend plays hopefully turn into wins. I like the direction of the program unlike how most feel. Since day one I targeted 2026 with the year to actually compete for a playoff spot. Now better qb play and getting off the field on critical downs on defense we could compete in 2025. Fans have to understand this team is talented & has a roster 1 & 2s can compete with anyone but we’re young at wrong spots. Playing a lot of young players usually leads to losses vs competitive teams. If oline play improves and Jackson Arnold even sniffs like h will reach his ceiling before he leaves auburn I think 2025 will be great solid season with 2026 setting a standard for Auburn football while Cam Coleman heads off the the nfl.
I think the athletic director should place emphasis on getting a pro style OC to call plays that highlight our current player strengths. Followed by a heavy development of Deuce Knight.
@kv4n id keep Freeze until his contract is complete, let him continue to be the primary recruiter and manage his coordinators. We need to treat the OC position just like the DC position and let them call the game to fit the roster.
How many snaps a game will our “tempo” offense need to feed our playmaker’s egos to keep them on the plains? I think we averaged something like 64-68 per game last season, so would we need 70 or more for everyone to get their touches?
Cmon guys, playcalling thing is getting old. Better QB play in CRUCIAL situations will solve a lot of this. Has playcalling been perfect?? Hell no, but GOOD QB play makes something out of nothing a lot of times. Cam proved that every week. Thorne was a disaster in clutch situations. Believe your eyes when they tell you something, they don’t lie.
I don't foresee any marketable improvement next year. Freeze isn't the kind of person who will admit to his system not working. It's the same thing Mike G has accused Kalen Deboer of. If any changes were going to have been made on the offensive staff, we're well past that point. The only saving grace is that the 2025 schedule is the softest Auburn schedule I've seen in my lifetime. Anything why of 9+ wins ought to be an insult given the kind of investment Auburn has put into Freeze: The PR nightmare of rehabbing his image, paying top dollar to win the in-state recruiting battles, the program identity crisis of making 🥶 our whole personality...
@michaelbee2165 You hire a radioactive liability like Freeze to get you in the playoff conversation by Year 3. That's the expectation, but not necessarily my prediction. I have no faith that moron will produce anything other than disappointment. Worse, the fanbase will find a way to move the goalposts and Boog over making the Liberty Bowl.
Yes! Play calling competency in critical moments... spot on.
Ike hit the nail on the head. South Carolina had a gamer at qb who could make it happen. Anddd we had Payton Thorne. 🤮

Great job!
Happy New Year's war Eagle Family
Needs to fix all of the offense.

I reccomended a Washington player to Texas and auburn and North Carolina, no one offered him but he also has ties to Ohio state
Better QB performance
QB development and red zone play calling.

Would love to see it.

So you want to pay Freeze to be coach, but have the AD tell him how and what to coach? Why not make the AD the head coach?

@@aviatonfirst then just fire Hugh and hire Durkin if you don't want Hugh to coach the way he has always coached
Average TE and RB are my main concerns

Quez had fumble issues earlier LAST SZN as well. The DAMARI ALSTON disrespect is WILD to me.
Put up and shut up, no excuses for Damari or Cobb
Stop throwing deep ball on 3rd and 2 and 4th and 1 and get better on defensive line in the interior
WDE

Did you watch the whole thing before you commented?

So if you're forecasting 9+ wins in 2025, wouldn't that represent marked improvement?

"Radioactive Freeze "
Have to disqualify any takes from here because the mind producing them is prejudiced beyond reasonable analysis.
