Your wife is a lucky woman! If you're ever in NY, you should try the Erie Canal. I live in a town where it runs through. It's a very historic waterway. Bet you'd find a lot there!

I have a theory to explain all the golf balls that you find. I believe that they leave their place of birth, then migrate to nearby waterways where they spawn and then die.

Picking up those golf balls was like collecting eggs from the chicken coup. I don't know why some cops or rangers are unhappy at being called out cos if I were in their shoes I'd prefer that than having to deal with a criminal

I work for a charity in Australia that clean up and re-sell old golf balls...maybe you should find a charity over there who does the same thing as they would really appreciate it and you will get rid of the golf balls in the river.
I also think you should make a game of it when you team up to see who finds the most golf balls, phones, lures, or guns. Prizes to each. Or the loser has to clean the others gear. Just a thought...
I've seen a few videos now where you just find a big ol' cluster of golf balls.... is there a particular reason you keep finding them that way? Do they tend to collect in common areas due to buoyancy/currents/etc? Is somebody hitting them into the rivers and is just super consistent about where they hit them? Are folks just going out and just dumping bags of balls into the river?
