  • Eva Lucero grew up in a cabin high in the Pecos, New Mexico mountains. Marcos Lujan homesteaded the El Pino Real ranch in the early 1900's under the Federal Homestead Act. The cabin's legacy is rich for this family as told here by Marcos's great granddaughter Eva Lucero. Thank you, Diego Lucero and family, for allowing me to tell this incredibly special story. You have a beautiful family, rich heritage, and an incredible legacy!

Great video. My dad was from Mora, NM Rogelio Vigil 1927-1995. My mom Maria Tomasita Sandoval 1926-2008 her family from Las Vegas, NM then family relocated to Trinidad in the 1920’s. We all eventually made it to California. I Can clearly hear my parents voice in Eva and her husband. It’s amazing they sound and look so much alike. God Bless them all. I miss them everyday.

A brotherly greeting to all those who feel themselves Hispanic around the world. It`s a language, it's a culture, it's a different way of life... it's a feeling.

What an awesome, beautiful video! Reminds me of my grandma and grandpa who still live in beautiful northern New Mexico. It would be awesome to see more of these videos made, different families in NM that would be willing to share a little back story.
