Hey John have you thought about setting up your tires tubeless? It's even lighter and the sealant should actually stop most punctures from flatting your tire.
Agreed on this. Those goathead thorns you picked up in the last video are brutal. If you get one you typically get about 10. They 'll break off and embed in the tire and if you miss one they'll pop any new tube you drop in there as well. They are all over alleys and curb strips around the western US and they're hard to spt. This time of year they dry up into those thorns and areas you rode through okay a few weeks ago will give you an immediate flat now. Slime tubes or tubeless for sure if you are seeing a lot of those issues. They'll add some weight but save you some rides.
Hey John, you should try out some Dirt jump or slope specific tyres if you get a chance, for example maxxis DTH or schwalbe table tops. They’re still low profile so you’re still able to go quick and with high psi but they’ll withstand thorns etc a bit better. Also pretty light if you get the folding/ Kevlar ones

Hell yea Hicks! not sure what tires those are but I recommend the WTB Horizon tires for your type of set up. Best of both worlds and not too heavy and wont puncture easy.

I’m glad your getting your confidence back and I’m also glad you put a nice brake line on your bike ! I use to ride with no brakes all the time ! It allowed me to develop some nasty skills on a bike but some small little feeling in the back of my mind told me to start riding with brakes on my bike. And I did just that.
You ever think about riding in Orange County? Garden Grove, Santa Ana, hit the river bed towards the beach and avoid flats? That'd be awesome, either way, love the content!
Regarding flats...and the prevention of... it's going to take compromises. Tubeless? Thicker inner tubes? Inner tubes with sealant? Thicker tires, like Continental Gatorskins?
Those cookie cutter apartments are All over Tokyo, Toronto, Vancouver, Dallas, Osaka, HongKong, Austin, Chicago etc. They try to build them Small and cheap But raise the prices because There's no empty land to build on, so the value rises. As cities get more densely compact They start building Buildings taller and Residential units smaller.

Best content as usual! Not sure if it would be suitable, but have you thought of riding tubeless tyres? Sealant helps to fill most small punctures and tyre repair is quick and your back on your bike. Not really sure in regards to dirt jumpers and slick tyres etc. Could be an option, rather than having to end your session early?!

if you wanna run those thin tires you should get yourself some kevlar "tuffy" strips or something. k-rads or maxxis holy rollers are highly advisable for you to try. don't get knobbies! i ride holy rollers exclusively on my street trials bikes.
Have you considered using never flats or thicker inner tubes? The heavier rotational weight may outweigh the issues of riding in a mixed use environment Stay safe out there

Here's a trick for flat tires. Use the flat tube as a liner between the new tube and the tire kinda like a rim strip. Keep up the great videos.

You should go with a tubeless setup on your dirt jumper. If you get a puncture the sealant just fills up the hole.

I recommend thickslicks mate there a lot thicker then normal slick style tires they’d suit you just in the wet they arnt the best

You should definitely check out schwalbe racing Ralph tires. They are tough but really light if you’re looking to go tubeless for the dirt jumper.
