    I love USA!!
I could see everyone stand up immediately when drum roll started. Americans are respecting and valuing their nation.
    God Bless America🇺🇸.
    From Japan.

Interesting. Kurt Masur from Germany, and from the former East Germany at that. A true man of accomplishment.

And this is the only way this song should be played and sung. Period

Three conductors leading an orchestra in the Star Spangled Banner. If all
Three of them led the national anthem together at the same time in the same performance, not like these separate performances, it’d be just like three drum majors leading a marching band. that’s double cool.
Sadly, it won’t happen now that two of the conductors in the video passed away

Americans need to rediscover their patriotism. We have a lot to learn from the innocent people of Ukraine fighting bravely for the survival of their country.

You have summed up one of my main reasons for deciding to enter the teaching field. We as citizen of these United States must find a greater understanding of the term Liberty.

The NYP was much better under Maazel than either of the other two.

Ever wonder the significance of the drum roll at the beginning?

I’m late to this, but always thought it was to replicate the sound of constant gunfire

It is the signal to the audience that the National Anthem is about to be performed and to stand.

@wcryan31 yes, but I also think there's a military significance to it as well, but don't remember exactly.

I'm assuming the audio isn't Maazel, as he was repeatedly criticised by the NY Times for his rather bloated and portentous conducting of this exact piece...
