  • Singapore on Friday (May 10) voted in favour of a United Nations resolution expressing support for Palestine's full membership in the international body.
    The General Assembly passed the draft resolution with 143 members voting in favour, nine against and 29 abstaining.
    In a ministerial statement on Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said Singapore chose to do this "after serious and careful consideration".
    He said the vote was consistent with the country's support for a negotiated two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

It spoke of the Palestine authority’s stance of recognising Israel right to exists and the renunciation of terrorism and referred to 2:27 the Oct 7th attack as a terrorism. • @willtestagain
      @willtestagain 6 дней назад

      You need to know the truth, (unlike the Singapore minister who may know the truth but has to tell a different story because of Singaporeans). PA is no different from the Hamas, basically they have only one vision and one goal: annihilated Israel. Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas vows the following:
      "If we are left with one penny, we will spend it on the families of the prisoners and martyrs."
      By vowing that , he is encouraging the killing of Jews and Israeli, and as many recognized this as a reward for terrorism. The Singapore minister cannot be so dumb as to not knowing this. This is the reason US is calling for a revitalized PA beside the corruption allegations against the PA. However, anyone who understands the Palestinian mindset would know what is the truth. Palestinians right from the beginning in 1948 refused to a two state solution. What they wanted was a Palestine state free of Jews, a Palestinian state to replace Israel!

      @@malgudidays3311 Absolutely. We need to be clear that Hamas was legitimately elected by the Palestinian people to govern them, and should be the official representative of the Palestinian people. The PA has done nothing useful for Palestinians. The side-lining of UN resolution after resolution with no concrete progess is wholly due to the PA's gross ineffectiveness. The PA allowed illegal Israeli settlements to be built all over the West Bank, to the point that they have ceded almost the entire sovereign Palestinian WB territory over to Israeli control. About 2 million WB Palestinians have been forced out to live in refugee tent cities in Jordan, where some have been living for decades, with no hope of ever returning to the WB, thanks to the PA. Hamas have resisted the illegal building of Israeli settlements in Gaza all these decades, keeping their sovereign territory intact. The PA has been accused of mi susi ng aid funds from the UN and international community, meant for all Palestinians, which Gazans never recive or receive very little of. The PA also has a known track record of cooperating with Israeli authorities and policies, at the expense, detriment and unlawful imprisonment of Palestinian citizens. What can the PA do now, when it has not achieved even a single step towards Palestinian autonomy, peace and security, for over 75 years? To align with the PA and shutting off dialogue with Hamas is to condone the PA's slackness and incompetence in governing the Palestinian people.

      Yes, however, human behavior in these circumstances is predictable. Palestinians are human. Every group in history subject to similar conditions reacted in the same way. When all peaceful means of gaining one’s freedom are blocked, this is what happens. The J..s did the same in G… the same occurred in Haitian Revolution, Turner Rebellion, etc. It’s regrettable, but all were predictable-and predicted at the time. Same for October 7.
      75 years is a record. I reviewed the history, and cannot find a record where people were subject to such conditions for so long without major retaliation. The sad thing is that it was all preventable. If they were given their freedom, none of this would happen. What they have had to endure all this time, as the world turned their back on them, is astonishing.

      4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11. This is a very troublesome decision to vote in favour when the boundaries of Palestine have ye to be drwan. This decision requires a mutual recognition of boundaries by Palestine and Israel. The decision to make Palestine a full UN member is invalid, when there is no one single government and Hamas is a terrorist organization.

    • @kory6897
      @kory6897 17 дней назад +3

      Sometimes when you have two troublemakers fighting an adult has to step in and draw the line. The world collectively, through the UN and ~150 of it's member countries took on that role decades ago and voted on that line with a 95% support. If those troublemakers continue causing trouble and cross the line that was drawn, you put them back to the line that was drawn and probably put them in timeout for a bit. You don't move the line and reward the troublemakers for crossing it, that just encourages them to keep doing it. That's how you end up with a troublemaker that causes trouble for their whole life. A menace to society.

    • @kory6897
      @kory6897 17 дней назад +8

      Moving the line for the troublemaker that crossed it and rewarding them with new toys to better fight and continue moving the line. Now that's just irresponsible. Maybe that adult who rewarded them isn't an adult. We have 150 adults at the table.. which one isn't the adult?

      Jeremy Stoner, Save the Children’s Regional Director for the Middle East, said: “Children as young as twelve have told us about truly inhumane treatment in the Israeli military detention system. There is no possible justification for setting dogs on children, beating them, or shackling them to metal chairs. Whatever they are accused of, regardless of guilt or innocence, these children must be treated first and foremost as children - with all the special protections this entails.
      “No child should be experiencing such cruelty at the hands of those who are meant to be looking after them. Children should no longer be prosecuted in military courts - and there has never been greater urgency to release children from prison as systemic ill-treatment is compounded by the threat of COVID-19 in detention centres. Only with these changes can we prevent irrevocable damage being inflicted on generations of Palestinian children.”
      Save the Children is calling for:
      The Government of Israel to respect international law, and to end the detention and mistreatment of children under military law. Israeli authorities must immediately adopt practical safeguards to improve the situation for children who are currently detained. This includes ending the systemic ill-treatment of children, establishing protection and safeguards for detainees, and providing adequate services to support girls and boys to recover from their experiences.

    As long as Hamas and PA does not denounce terrorism and acknowledge Israel’s right to exist the 2 state solution is no go regardless of any right of Palestinians to a homeland. The ball is in the hands of HAMAS and PA and for that matter Muslim nations in the middle east in particular Iran. Know the core issue and impediments to peace here. Trying to be politically correct in the face of Muslim hostility around the world is a serious error that will prolong this disastrous situation. Leaders around the world pro or anti-Israel, pro or anti-Palestinian have a grave responsibility to not play politics. Otherwise it’s simply hypocrisy, self interest or cowardice. And we have too much of that today as manifested in the UN.
