Poongko destroying Daigo was crazy in itself, but then Latif coming out of nowhere and eliminating both Daigo and Poongko respectively (before unfortunately ending to Fuudo but hey, he was legit too.) just made this probably the most insane EVO finals I've ever seen I'm so glad I was there for this one. Not even mentioning the Tron comeback and the generally all around insanity of the MK finals before too. I think this really is the start of a truly new era in this scenes history
i hope daigo wasnt offended by his celebration... he was celebrating so much because he just perfected the person who he and many others have so much respect for
This kid is something special whe is exeptional player, wonder how long untill ppl start hating him, couse ppl have that habbit first they love someone, then they start to hate him, first they cheer for persons succes, but if he start to become to succesful he bether wach out couse that is when jelousy and hating starts
What I really like about this match is that Daigo was dominating the first 10 seconds and I thought "Oh Shit, Daigo gonna blow up Poongko", then Poongko procedes the mindfuck Daigo for 4 round straight.
Goddammit Poongo's theatrics before the fight should've been included in the video because it was Fan-friggin'-tastic to watch him do that, then go and perfect Daigo.
@CtheGful Seth is a high risk/high reward character. This fits Poongko, because in every match he gambles and tries to guess his opponent's every move. But what makes him a monster is his unpredictability, utilizing every single tool that Seth has. He's the perfect candidate to take down Daigo. You have take into consideration that what he did in this match was incredibly gutsy and crazy.
@XXEvilRikuXX Hitting focus in the middle of an attack animation will cancel the animation into a focus attack though it costs 2 super bars. Shory>focus cancel>dash foward>???>profit
@YSGUYx9 Yeah. He won Evo 2009 and 2010, so he's a real threat to everyone. You always root for the underdog when it comes to these types of competition.
Shame to see Daigo go out, I always enjoy watching him play but Poongko did a great job here. However... everybody either seems to love Daigo or hate him, everybody loses at some point. It's not a big deal.
@|Yakuza| yes you're right but b4 every grab he waits a sec 2 see Wat daigo does - it really isn't all that difficult 2 spam command grabs with Seth taking In the consideration that hes the best speed duration command grabing character in the game
@yourleftnut1 Naw Poognko wasn't mashing, he baited Daigo into every situation. This threw Daigo off his game, because the first match Poongko played completely rush-down. Every match after it was a mixture of zoning and rush-down and Daigo couldn't lock on to his pattern. Reason being Poongko doesn't play to a pattern he plays by gamble meaning he tries to anticipate his opponents moves and punish accordingly. Daigo couldn't download him because his style isn't concrete
@The1xFalcon when is said a day 1 ryu i meant that 4 dosen't take much time to get good at. with dummed down moves, simplefied moves, very easy to mash, and very easy combos with more damage than the combo's deserve. just to note: i'm not hating on the SFIV Series but after 3rd strike it's just gotten to easy... again in no way am i hating. but take into consideration THIS IS JUST my opinion yours may be different.
The fact is Poongko plays with the randomness of an online masher, but with the skill and execution of a pro. You can't fight random. You can tell Daigo was getting pissed that he kept getting Shoryu'd after those upkicks at 1:57 LOL
See... what happened was Yun discovered Seth's laboratory, stole some confidential equipment and rode off on his skateboard until Seth caught up with him lol. Damn that was bad smh...
@ps123fan Hate to break it to you but i was actually at evo the last two years. Ive had the pleasure of actually watching the Japanese play and playing against them. My friend, who is a top player in the US, has been to japan on multiple occasions and every time he comes back he tell me how during block strings they just sit there mashing 360's and DP's. I've WATCHED them do it. You're trying to school the wrong person on this. Considering im an Arcade player myself.
whao shit !! listen to the crowd behind !!! that seth was a crazy asshole !!! Daigo got owned !! no more words !!! he shosked me with his skills , very strong
@noJutsu1000 All that Virtua Fighter playing I suppose. Ya know, this would've been a PERFECT stage for SEGA to come out and announce a Western release of the latest Virtua Fighter game :/
And my friends said Seth is not a cheater in this SSF4 yeah of course hell yes he is, one Seth combo and that^s taking more than half energy WTH??? Not a fair game this one either!!!
I'm loving these comments asking about Seth being cheap. Seriously? Since your lord and master Daigo got annihilated right? LOL! No, Seth has the lowest health in the game and individually his attacks dont do a lot of damage. He just has a large variety of attacks and combos. His DP does have the highest priority of any DP I believe, but his main problem is if you dont play as close to perfect as possible you will get blown up due to low health.
@MrBisonopolis of course you can mash dp in mid-combos! maybe Daigo gets away with getting punished but it isn't daigo's fault it's the opponents fault then. (it's his fault if he's mashing though) the players who ''mash dp'' should definitly get punished for it. compare The sf4 series to SF2 in sf2 you gotta have great reactions and execution in addition footsies too be good, in 4 the moves have been ''simplefied'' and dummed down to the point that even a 1 day ryu can beat a pro. PEACE!
@caliento012 So because Daigo got destroyed, Poongko is an idiot? I'm loving these comments. keep em coming. Its gotta be sad seeing your lord and master go down in flames like that...
@TheTokyoRejects It really isnt. Seth has a toolbox FULL of options, but he doesnt have godlike normals, and one messup and you can kiss half your life goodbye. 850 health is not massive, thats akuma levels, and he doesnt have anything LIKE as good normals as Akuma. Not that hes bad, but compare like for like, hes squishy as hell and relies totally on his mixups to win.
@TheTokyoRejects Seth has all those moves but dont have the HP to back it up. He was styling with seth on a event lol thats pure skills there. Im sure you have gone up againts a Seth online, but carefully reading a seth can be an easy win... although Daigo wasn't able to do it. I still have to say Poongko is prolly the best at that tourney. His match againts Fuudo had one mistake and totally ruined the whole match.
@ps123fan Do you really want me to name drop? iloveu Joe is the specific one im talking about. But i've heard this from TS Sabin, Andre Lambert, Chris Hu, Justin, and plenty of others talking about it. It's pretty well known in the community that you can mash DP mid combo. Sometimes Daigo does get baited and punished for it. But most of the time he get away with it clean. Just because you're mashing during block strings doesn't make you predictable so long as you're not doing it every time.
Daigo doesn't have ego, watch his interviews, he's a very humble person. Upon winning, he never jumps up and celebrates.
Everybody wants Daigo to lose.
What is really cool about Daigo is how humble he is and how he doesn't feel the need to do theatrics when he wins.
I wish this vid included the intro to both players before the match started.
Poongko's entrance was so epic, had the whole place screaming.
this was the match of the year
i hope daigo wasnt offended by his celebration... he was celebrating so much because he just perfected the person who he and many others have so much respect for
Holy shit!! Evo moment of 2011
This was probably the greatest highlight of the whole Evo2k 2011. The way Poongko dominated the match was amazing!
This kid is something special whe is exeptional player, wonder how long untill ppl start hating him, couse ppl have that habbit first they love someone, then they start to hate him, first they cheer for persons succes, but if he start to become to succesful he bether wach out couse that is when jelousy and hating starts
Very good power point presentation...

Dat Hype! You would think it was the late 80's and Chuck D and Flavor Flav were on stage... :)
@CtheGful

@The1xFalcon
your right. just because it's easy to input moves doesn't mean the player can hang with real quality players.
holy shit>>>> the most action packed match i've ever seen. diago should of played more patient
@The1xFalcon He didnt "drop" Ryu. He played with him a devestation and got second place in AE.
@XXEvilRikuXX Hitting focus in the middle of an attack animation will cancel the animation into a focus attack though it costs 2 super bars. Shory>focus cancel>dash foward>???>profit
WOW! The guy has a crystal ball. Day-go, downloaded!
@YSGUYx9
Yeah. He won Evo 2009 and 2010, so he's a real threat to everyone. You always root for the underdog when it comes to these types of competition.
@hamidious
what you call theatrics is what the rest of the world called emotions and having a personality
I dont think you people realize how damn good Poongko is...
Didn't people use to play Rufus alot
in these tournaments?
( Don't know much about SF tournaments)
Good point. Though try saying that to all the fans on the background screaming..
dang man daigo must have been under big preasure
Shame to see Daigo go out, I always enjoy watching him play but Poongko did a great job here. However... everybody either seems to love Daigo or hate him, everybody loses at some point. It's not a big deal.
why wasnt this best of 5 this year?
the beast has been TAMED !!!
i'm still crying...
What?!
Seriously, what just happened?!
Holy shit! That was frigging awsome :D
@noJutsu1000 thats what makes fuudo special, he doesnt have a billion videos on youtube with people downloading his game plan.
I Feel for Daigo Though Every Player Saw Him As Unbeatable... Until Now
It seemed like the first round destroyed Daigo's nerve. He never recovered. The pressure didn't help either.
@|Yakuza| yes you're right but b4 every grab he waits a sec 2 see Wat daigo does - it really isn't all that difficult 2 spam command grabs with Seth taking In the consideration that hes the best speed duration command grabing character in the game
@lazyxmoo
das right bro. good shit
@nychaze67 you have yet to contradict his statement.
@yourleftnut1 Naw Poognko wasn't mashing, he baited Daigo into every situation. This threw Daigo off his game, because the first match Poongko played completely rush-down. poongko did something jwong couldnt do and thats perfect daigio!
the true daigo killer
the Beast became a fresh SUSHI ... better luck Daigo U ...
@The1xFalcon when is said a day 1 ryu i meant that 4 dosen't take much time to get good at. with dummed down moves, simplefied moves, very easy to mash, and very easy combos with more damage than the combo's deserve.

He got in his head BIG TIME!
Poongko didn't want to win the tournament, I believe his mission was done there.
@ps123fan understandable u cant really parry in SFIV and even though u can in SF3 its still difficult to master
@xXGomuGomuXx Well said :DDD. Daigo is still my favorite player. So quiet and awesome :D. GGs to poongko, domination :D
@hameed You know Seth has less health than Akuma, right?
The fact is Poongko plays with the randomness of an online masher, but with the skill and execution of a pro. You can't fight random. You can tell Daigo was getting pissed that he kept getting Shoryu'd after those upkicks at 1:57 LOL
@akathetruthteller Eh? It says in the title, and he's Korean.
Just curious. Why does everyone want Daigo to lose? Does he win a lot?
Wow! I heard about the perfect but dam!
THE MACHINE
poongko the machine is the real champion in the world is pure spectacle seth 100% is top tier always
@hameed Hes always used Seth.
@akathetruthteller he reps the korean flag in the end of the video
Man... Poongko sure owned Daigo ...
Man, Daigo needs Ryu.
See... what happened was Yun discovered Seth's laboratory, stole some confidential equipment and rode off on his skateboard until Seth caught up with him lol. Damn that was bad smh...

@noJutsu1000 All that Virtua Fighter playing I suppose. Ya know, this would've been a PERFECT stage for SEGA to come out and announce a Western release of the latest Virtua Fighter game :/
You do realize that right after the game ended Poongko jumped into the air and away from Daigo, how the hell do you expect him to congratulate him ?
who is that seth player i wonder? is he japanese?
Seth won ?
Incredible !!!
Poor Daigo...=(
HEELLLLLLLLLL YEAAAAAAAAH POOOOOOOOOONGKOOOOOOOOO!!!
ウメハラが負けるなんて信じられん!
And my friends said Seth is not a cheater in this SSF4 yeah of course hell yes he is, one Seth combo and that^s taking more than half energy WTH???
Not a fair game this one either!!!
Shit like this is why I wish I could play Seth. Oh well. I'll just stick with chun.
Daigo: "God sent me to play SF."
Poongko: "No I didn't..."
Seth dive kick > Yun dive kick he should have realised
I'm loving these comments asking about Seth being cheap. Seriously? Since your lord and master Daigo got annihilated right? LOL! poongko demolished daigo...but if daigo would have stuck with his ryu it would have been a better match...poongko would have won regardless
Damn...daigo was just destroyed.
@MrBisonopolis of course you can mash dp in mid-combos! maybe Daigo gets away with getting punished but it isn't daigo's fault it's the opponents fault then. (it's his fault if he's mashing though) the players who ''mash dp'' should definitly get punished for it.

@ao3darkness Nerf Poongko? That's kinda hard.
diago put on BLAST
@caliento012 So because Daigo got destroyed, Poongko is an idiot? I'm loving these comments. keep em coming. Its gotta be sad seeing your lord and master go down in flames like that...
yun is an offense type of character he has no projectile weapon he can only do dive kicks to get inside making him very prone to that command grab.
Japanese Yell = WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
@MullinsTheRapper Newcomer lol - im possibly the best bison on the game
Daigo should have sticked to SSF4AE rather than playing MVC3
Poongko 2012
Daigo should have went back to Ryu after first game with Yun lol..
wow...
@Demoniq I couldn't agree more Vitality and stamina are garbage lol
Soft, if Daigo went Ryu I'd like to see how the matchup would end.
Invalid. Seth is overpowered!
Might of been fix'd. Diago went down too easily.
Daigo's Yun got touchdowned XD
@ps123fan Do you really want me to name drop? iloveu Joe is the specific one im talking about. Poongko killed Kim John-il.
@TheTokyoRejects Lowest stamina in the game. He has plenty of tools, but he just needs to get hit with one combo or a ultra and he's out.
He used Seth? Isn't that a little cheap?
Damn Daigo....you mad bro? ;P
poongko poongko poongko
!!!!!
@Cr1mSiR Latif knocked Daigo out of the competition, what the hell are you talking about?
daigooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
