I was never really into the Kiss, i respect what they did, i despite Simmons, but hearing this makes me think a lot. It is like he is talking about me. You realise , even people like Paul Stanley have problems like you have, despite having millions of money, millions of followers, and that is something Gene Simmons is not able to admit. He cant go down deep inside that like Stanley.. Who i consider very inteligent person on many levels.

Gene Simmons is an intellectual and emotional buffoon. From this book he I feel that since day one Gene has simply been an egotistical dumbass incapable of doing anything, he is very, very lucky to have met Paul Stanley.
Genes best trait is when a marketing expert says "we should do this" Gene says "yes."

I personally think, that both Paul and Gene are very intelligent people. And, deep down, they are both nice people, too. The difference I see is, that Paul is more open emotionally, and tries to share his emotions, his problems, his uncertainty even with his fans. While Gene plays a game, the person he pretends to be for the public has never existed. However, lately he's been able to take off that pose and mask somewhat, and be really himself... at least at times.

Such a beautiful and honest portrayal not only of what celebrity attitude brings - "I couldn't be comfortable outside the controlled situation of being the star child" - but also, of the kind of mind which develops into an artist like him. Most people can just drop the ball and "hangout" - but Paul was wired to have cosmic conversations and skip the mundane aspects of reality. If he didn't feel like a radiant shooting star, then he didn't feel comfortable - for better or worse. I can relate. Its great that he can be so objective about himself as he developed in his life. I think someone truly arrogant could not be this critical about himself in the past.

So deep n raw! Thanks for sharing this emotional time in ur life. Being real with oneself is a true gift. Most ppl walk the road of denial. Most ppl think, jumping on another will fix, the broken. Yes, most ppl chose what makes them look good, rather then the person that makes u feel good.
U are an amazing man, with an amazing mind & extraordinary talent. Totally get u.
I for one, feel the same, not a walking social disease, an proud to not fall into the temptations of it. May I have patients, to wait on that dream person, until then my center of my world will always bring me more treasure, then I could ever buy. It’s Grandbabies! It’s double the blessing!
I think, if u stay true to you, you will have exactly what u will need. If u have patients, good things will come.

They will never know that they helped me as much or more than I helped them.

But I understand this. It's not a 'phobia'. Some people like deeper conversations. That is next to impossible in America and anglo-saxon nations especially but almost anywhere really.

Yeah financially screwed or fired every Kiss band member since the original drummer and lead guitar were fired. Refused to give them solid contracts or a part of gross revenues. That is why they went through so many Kiss band members. As articulate and interesting as Paul sounds it was all about Money at the end of the day with him and Kiss. Gene just went along with whatever Paul wanted. They screwed over lots of musicians in the process over the 45 or so years. I don't dislike Paul. I find him articulate and interesting. But he has a tendency to blame others for everything that went wrong over the years with Kiss. Him and Gene screwed lots of people over the years. At the end of the day it was all about the money in their pockets. IMHO

Paul wrote about his business work, too.
How they were young and didn't know where their money disappeared, when they were on tour etc.
And he was right to blame e.g. Howard Marks or Bill Aucoin. But he also said, WE were naiv.
Then he took care that they were not exploited.
He deserves respect for this work, too.
      Even Vinnie Vincent said
      (Expo Talk 2018):
Paul " he is really, a really extremely kind soul". And "I love him".
By the way, Vinnie's singer in VVI also didn't want to sign Vinnie's contract.
We don't know how many people Madonna fired?
      Business is business.
And what's Paul here talking about is his personality. Very honest.
And when there is someone to "blame", then it's his mother. Emotionally cold. I believe him.

You as human reach a time when you question your existence. Then you came to the realization nothing o no material things can fill that empty gap in your life.nothing not even the companion of beautiful woman....then you realize you disregard the thing you really need and fill your emptiness . ......your spirituality. .the very the thing that gives the joy to continue living. .in a world one try to live with eyes close....in shallow reality....
One must be closer to your creator at the end of the rope of life..........since one totally disregarded as a young man....that happened to you Paul stanley...and me...everybody with a conscious...

When a person spends their lifetime pursuing their heart's desire, dreams, or whatever they perceive to be the ultimate accomplishment ... once they achieve their goal, whether it be Stardom, Great Wealth, Worldly Power...or Whatever! They can end up feeling empty inside. There are plenty of examples, from 'movie stars' to Politicians. Inner peace doesn't come easy..... no matter Who, or What you BECOME...(and it can be fleeting,) no matter WHAT you Achieve. It can be a LIFE-TIMES Pursuit...which is what ALWAYS makes the Journey more Valuable.... (then the End of the road...)

Paul don't feel insecure about feeling insecure. At least 70% of the population feel the same way about going into a bar and not knowing anybody.

When you are as self-absorbed and as self-obsessed and self-centered as Paul is about himself, the last thing he's interested in is other people. He's a petty, arrogant, prick who I always admired more than any other member of KISS until about 10 years ago when his true self started to emerge. Now, I wouldn't hail a cab for him.

Hi! I was just curious - what started to emerge 10 years ago with Paul that made you have this opinion. (For the record, I met him also a year and a half ago at a Meet and Greet concert in Connecticut. He was very distant - not wanting to chat too much with fans).

So, maybe if you meet Paul sometime, treat him to a coffee and a little conversation about the bands he grew up listening to. You night just make a friend.
