Thank you!! this is the best tutorial I have seen
Great instructions, you gave step by step. Much better than a lot of other videos !! Thank you so much.
Your explanations are so clear, Leyla! Wonderful. I made my menko so that I could put some pointed nibs as a gift for my calligraphy friends
You are a wonderful instructor !! Yesterday I watched the video, today I watched and made the envelope pausing many times. It turned out perfectly, thank you so much. I am sending it to my Mom for Valentine's Day !!
Thank you, this was the easiest and best explanation I have seen for this form.
Omgg this is the best step by step tutorial I have ever seen . I was struggling a lot to make this . Thank you soo much ❤️
Ever since I first stumbled on a tutorial for menko a couple years ago, it has been my favorite & most useful thing to make with origami. That first tutorial was very difficult to follow towards the end and I always had trouble. Yours is very clear & made learning how do do it really easy -thank you!
+Laurel R You are very welcome. I love this origami too... easy and satisfying to make :-)
Thank you so much! This is so awesome, fun and easy!
Just watched the tutorial to make one out of lightweight Christmas scrapbook paper for my sister's keychain that I made her!! Thank you so much, and amazing instructions!!
Thank you soo very much!!! Fabulous video, very helpful. Loved the explanation as you do it and camera work perfect and timing of your instruction the perfect pace. Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for the wonderful demonstration, Leyla! I think I am going to try and find out the right paper-size in order to make it a CD-cover, among other things. This is a lovely model.
You are awesome!! Your direction are so clear and easy to follow... thank you, thank you, thank you :)
You are very welcome!
Thank you for this very helpful video and for your clear instructions and guidance. Much appreciated. :)
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. :) I didn't want to have the diagonal bends on the back, so I just did the 4 necessary bendings to divide the square in nine small squares. When doing the model, I ended up finishing it without the diagonals on the bottom side. ;)
Genial aporte, felicitaciones
This is hands down the best ORAGAMI tutorial I have ever seen
I liked too much this way You teach us how to make "Menko", thank You!!
I used it as a gift envelope for home-made earrings. Thank you!
thanks! this helped me when i needed somewhere to hold some loose screws while moving. very clear instructions!
Ha, Ha - I had so much fun.I am using my Menke for my friends that are pet owners, for cats/kitties I put in 'treats' -different than dry cat food. :) For the dogs, some of them are big and I bought some BEAUTIFUL 'Whimsy' paper, lovely glitter on various designs; turned out the 'paper' was thick CARD STOCK !! ha,ha ~ The first I made turned out bad; I got to thinking about the creases. I just finished a BIG one, gently creasing and it holds a Dog Treat Bone! Thank you
@Leyla Torres - You're more than welcome! Thank YOU for sharing your talent with us.
Thank you! This was so clear & easy to follow!

Perfect for earrings, thank you!
I put earrings in there! Beautiful video ❤ so relaxing 😊
First off, it's a beautiful model, thank you Leyla for sharing it with us.
Second of all, you could use the model as a container for a gift of money for (as an example) a birthday, or if using paper that is dual color (but split diagonally) it could hold a love note for Valentine's Day. Or with red/green to hold a gift for Christmas.
Also, depending on the size of the central square it could be used to hold a CD or DVD if made with a large enough paper.
Thank you SO MUCH! Could not make sense of the book I was using, and I feel so proud I could make it following you. Gracias!
+Suwi Beast You are very welcome! Congratulations on making it!
+Leyla Torres (OrigamiSpirit Videos) My second grader gave a presentation this morning. She chose to talk about origami. Afterwards, I handed her the little Menko. She opened it up to discover the little note congratulating her on a wonderful job. She just LIT UP with delight and surprise. That sweet moment was made possible only by your super clear instruction late last night. Perfect.
Such a cute little seed container!
I used it for packing my homemade Christmas ornaments. Thank you.
Used to package a card for my brother. Thank you, this was very helpful and really nice and easy to follow :)
I'm glad it's helpful to you!
Very clear tutorial. Thank you.I used it to gift wrap some earrings
@Mary K. Dean I'm afraid I don't know the stems you mention in your question. Perhaps you saw it in a different youtube channel?

I really love this #origamienvelope design, would be awesome to give a money gift to my niece next time! Also it would be great for a discount coupon given as a gift and anything having to do with a paper gift or wishing card... The seeds idea I think is brilliant! I don't do much gardening so maybe I would put little flat chocolates in it...imagine if those sprouted! And any kind of small sweet that doesn't melt like jelly beans etc ^)^ Thanks so much for this wonderful #tutorial and #giftideas you presented :)
For the tooth fairy.
This is awesome.. Thank you for sharing.. You're a great teacher

Thank you this is a lovely little gift packet . It would be perfect to put confetti in for weddings 🙂
Thank you, it was a very clear and precise demonstration. I made one and put some ponytail hair bands in it, to carry in my bag. Because whenever I need one I cant find one... :-)

Love this. Small earrings that come on a card will fit or some stretch bracelets. How about a tea bag or drink mix of some kind.

Yes, these could hold a small card with a little invitation?... or congratulation? or love message?
thats cute ^^ i feel like im gonna make a lot of those
After it's made, if I use a solid color paper, I like to use an ink stamp of a flower on top of closing folds. It looks really pretty when you use white paper & markers to ink the stamp with bright colors.l or using white gel markers on dark colored paper.
+Laurel R Nice idea... using stamps! Thank you!
You’re the best 😘
merci beaucoup, c'était très clair
I am going to give a friend's child some stickers as a gift... will fit nicely in the menko! :-)
Rice for wedding!

Quick Fact: The Menko was actually used in a Japanese game, where they would throw the Menko on the table in attempt to flip their opponents by a gust of wind. If they succeeded they would collect their opponents card. Whoever ended with the most cards won the game. Also, may I suggest using it as something like a coaster to set a cup on? I'm pretty sure you would just apply some laquer and viola! A coaster.
MikkyMinecraft Yo Thank you Mikki for sharing what you know about the Menko. Also, a coaster sounds great!
I used it as a small pouche for gifting a pair of earrings :)
so sorry to bother you, it's right on the Origami Spirit. :) I have completed my Orange! lol Leyla, I saw back in April I think, I designer simple called "Joe" He had designed a piece that had the name of 'Diamond" Perhaps you recall it? It had less than 5 intersecting Tetrahedia and looked like made of foil paper. Thank you..
