Kindly clarify, statement given says “nizam of arcot” while arcot/carnatic had nawabs and not nizams. Nizams were of hyderabad.. and nawab of carnatic was setup by aurangzeb before hyderbad state was founded.. although it is true later carnatic became a dependency of hyderabad.
Secondly, independent kingdom of rohilkhand was founded after durrani acquired these territories. He named the territory Rohilkhand. Before that the semi independent kingdom which existed did not call themselves rohilkhand..

Nizamat of Arcot/ Nawabs of Travancore was definitely established by Aurangzeb in 1692 while the Hyderabad state was established around 1724 by Nizam Ul Mulk.
Clearly, the statement given in question is wrong.
UPSC has got into a habit of mocking students. If you study whole year or don't, they bring you on same level.
I don't think they are checking knowledge here, they are checking individual's luck.

I quit this BS because of the sheer ambiguity and cost of productive youth days.
