@@I_am_miss_Conelly Whenever people ask me about inherent kindness I think back to when I was about eight and I was just starting to earn allowance for things I like to enjoy, and I got the news that my aunt Rachel was expecting a little boy. So at eight years old I started saving my allowance and visiting secondhand shops and garage sales, collecting baby items, Second hand baby items, that me and my grandmother who knew my aunt, liked the idea, even though this was for the other side of my family, we spent all weekend cleaning and making small repairs to the items, we showed up that weekend with an entire trunk load of my grandmothers SUV with a highchair a baby mat, toys for all varying ages, and 50 bucks in hand to my aunt, our family was always poor, and I knew I wanted to do what I could to help. The way that woman cried and hugged me and kissed my forehead and told me that I had just done a tremendous kindness, was not what made it for me, because I hadn’t even anticipated that, I just wanted to give a good thing,
that is what I strive to live by.

I think they meant discrimination as in things like disregarding what they say as silly without taking a moment to check or verify, purely because they're children and sometimes it may have merit. Or things like disregarding their feelings because they're children. Sometimes kids have stupid reasons for being upset, and sometimes they have genuine worry but lack the means to explain it in an adult way.
Although it's hard to put into words, I see some people even go so far as to act in ways that suggest they don't truly see children as equal human beings. Such as with parents that involve them in a messy divorce and use them as pawns against another parent. Or even, outright abuse them.

My son started asking me for extra food earlier this year. He's very active and sometimes eats a lot to keep up his energy, so I didn't think much of it. It turned out that one of his friends never really had much to eat at lunch because his family was struggling with money, he had been asking for extras to give to his friend. It touched my heart, I told him to ask his friend what he liked so I could get him things he wanted and to make sure he didn't have any food allergies I needed to keep in mind.
I pack two lunches everyday. I send extra food on Fridays so he can have food over the weekend. I'm so happy and proud my son wanted to help him, he's so sweet. Love that kid.

    Howdy hi hi,
This is the kind of empathy we are all born with. The real trick is to let them keep it with them for the rest of their lives regardless of what it may cost us as parents.

My niece was the same whey, since two years old whenever she saw someone in the family that was sad or upset she would hug and kiss them until they where happy again. Cherish your little man.

The yes day concept is enough to show how good u r at parenting. The child is bound to learn kindness and make good choices.

My 3 yo watched me suffer through a really bad sickness for almost 2 weeks, as I started to get better, one morning she came up to me, with the thermometer and scanned my forehead and said, mommy your feeling better. She didn't know how to read the thermometer or use it, but she just saw I was feeling better. I cried so much at that

If you teach your kids empathy and validate their feelings they will do the same to you in return. My dad always treated me this way and I treated him the same way in return. Respect your kids and they will respect you
