Man I'd trade my 6way AC cab 650 for that thing in pines any day. I couldn't go near that fast and would have to give it a lot more room, and once I got that wind shift I'd really been scrambling trying to step out some. Our 650's with 6ways are good at somethings but y'alls bigger dozers with y'alls bigger V blades are the ticket in planted pines. The times I've been up there on fires with y'all GA guys some times I feel like I'm clapping with one hand. Great videos and I think your really doing something good for all of us with these videos.
Little dozers have their place! Bigger isn't always better. But when things need to be pushed and need more power.. you can't beat the heavy dozers. Thanks for watching, man! I'm hoping I can continue to put out videos and other content to educate and entertain!
Motion sickness, vertigo, no. More distracting was the left channel only audio 😅 Right side got only this low static, had to flip the headset off my right ear 15 minutes into the video 😅 Otherwise a great video. 👍🏻👍🏻 from Finland
To MY view he's not looking back enough to check his break & his plow.... a tire may have fell off or not turning up enuff dirt!!! Other than that he's doing A SUPER JOB!!!
Why can't the pulp plantation owners run a cultivator dowd the tree rows one in a while, every 3rd or 5th one would make all that a firebreak instead of just a fuel farm. If that is "reforestation" someone is treating it more like a jobs program that legitimate effort. Reforetation should have those trees at least 3 times further apart.
Pine plantations dont work like that here in the SE. We usually plant on a 6 by 12 spacing. We recommend keeping landowners pine plantations burned every 2-3 years, if theyre thinned or a species like (longleaf) that can handle fire at a younger age. Its more cost effective to burn than to use equipment doing that. pre-suppression firebreaks can be managed in intervals during dry times to help slow down the spread, but that cost money.
You might want to bring a GPS or load an App on the smartphone. A text of your location would keep you safer and tell command where you are at considering how close you run the fire front.
Several times you were called to ask your location while cutting a line. Does your dozer have an AVL system that the IC could pull up on a computer and see where you are?
Earnt your pay for that one .Good push on that first run, WTG. when you gonna get some glass in that dozer..save gettin stung again..lmfao.. Hey hey lets becarefull out there...
Just my salary pay. 😂 Thanks man. That JD 750 isn't never going to get glass until it gets traded in for a closed cab with AC. You be safe too. Thanks for watching!
love the BMPS sticker on the window XD can never forget to do those things :P how difficult is it to do it with your vblade vs the 6 way that we use up in the northern part of the state?
Do you get emergency lights to run to help get thru traffic to get to fires quicker? I've seen videos from some states that allow tow operators to run red/blues + siren when requested by police
How does that narrow strip of ground you plow up stop a fire or is it wider than it looks? Doesn’t it just jump across it? We had a wildfire in my town years ago started by sparks from the train that burned about 500 acres and the fire would flare back up in places where it had gotten into the roots of the trees. Is that what you’re trying to keep from happening with plowing up the ground?
Yes. It separates the vegetation that's burning and digs down to bare mineral soil. Now it can spot over that line before I can turn around and push it out. I'll have this question in a more detail explanation on my Q&A video i will do. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing with us all! It shows people what's happening inside these fires-maybe more awareness will bring fewer fires. What is the rig you're pulling and what does it do?
Hopefully, but I've learn some people will never learn or are careless. What I am pulling is a fire plow, it establishes the firebreak by digging to dirt.
@@butterfinger1171 I have now with my new Insta360 camera on the outside..only issue I have now with it is it overheating thus having to go back to helmet cam until the 360 camera cools down to film again
Does everyone like a longer video, or should I break them down to shorter clips?
Probably could have been in two parts but certainly beats sub 10 minute clips.
Longer is better.
Thanks, guys. I'll keep this in mind!
i love the 1 hour+ videos! gives me something to fall asleep to!

Thanks! I got a buddy in Alabama forestry in the north part of the state. Enjoy your retirement!

we d like to see the result, could you show the trench you made etc?
I'll be posting another video soon about that. Thanks for the question!

I forgot to ask but how much training is involved to be a "tractor operator?
I'll be sure to answer this in the Q and A.
I can feel the urgency with the way he’s running that machine.
Definitely. I couldn't let it get a foot hold and make a major run
Would this be John Dawson road in Pulaski county Ga? Which tractor is your favorite for manuverability and power?
Atkinson County. I'm going to do a Q and A video soon and I'll answer you last question in it. Thanks for watching!

Yikes I'm actually headed this way this morning going to Hazlehurst , yall get this out?
This was back in 2015. You're good!
love the BMPS sticker on the window XD can never forget to do those things :P how difficult is it to do it with your vblade vs the 6 way that we use up in the northern part of the state?
It's not hard..though the 6 way would make it neater.
Wow! I am on pins and needles watching. Running the dozer flat out through a forest on fire - what could go wrong?
🤣 It's not bad. Just have to have respect for the fire and prepare for the unexpected.
I'd take a couple 15-20 minute clips released once a day over a longer video. Also, congrats on passing 2k so fast!
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion!

Enjoy the long videos

Looks like some pretty rough ground. Those bumps look like they hurt a bit.
Seriously impressive watching those trees snap like toothpicks.
They'll wake you up. 😅
Long videos are great but if you can put time stamps that would be great
Thanks for the suggestion. How would you want to see the time stamps?
At 18:11 Seeing the wall of fire off your right and that "come on, bitch" must've been a hair raising moment.
Yeah, lol. I had the plow deep, and the tractor was struggling going over those tree beds. Wind was pushing the fire my way.
