Just adding a disclaimer, I do drive it in Normal/Auto until the SST has warmed up and then I switch to Sport/Manual once it has reached operating temperature.
It's goes below 0°C in the winter season here, I drive it in Normal mode to allow slip intentionally to warm it up. Once the fluid temperature reaches around 40°C, I put it in Sport. S-Sport is not recommended for Ralliarts (subject to opinion) because of the different gear ratios between the Evo MR and Ralliart, therefore the software for TCU is different. Although S-Sport does offer increased clutch pressure, you'll destroy your gear synchros driving it all the time in S-Sport. I would only ever use it when launching at the drag strip.
Bro nice car, I have one of my own here in Brazil. Nice piece of advise about the SSport and the warming up of the SST. Would you mind listing your mods and the links for it? Really liked what you done with your RA.
Thanks! Honestly, I had a mod list at one point and deleted it. Most notably was the BBK front and rear, stainless steel brake lines, lowering springs, full turbo back exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, upgraded injectors and a custom tune.

Take care of it, do the transmission, transfer case and diff fluid changes when you are supposed to with OEM fluid and you'll be fine. It is a hit or miss with the shift fork issue but the later model years (14-15), don't seem to have the problem as often
Hey, sorry for the late reply. Stock intake with a drop in filter performed great for this setup. Also I had the bumper duct cutout for the stock intake so an aftermarket intake would have made it less efficient. Aftermarket intakes have their benefits but on a Ralliart it must be tuned otherwise the SST will react negatively to the modification.
You have my respect regarding your ride. Do you have the info regarding whom did the Big Brake upgrades? That info would be greatly appreciated & thanks for your time. 👍🏾
I did them myself actually, sourced the calipers used and had them powdercoated to a color I liked. Getting them to fit requires modification to the wheel hub by enlarging the caliper mounting holes. They bolt right up after that, you have to use larger Evo X rotors with them.
For engine oil you can use whatever you like, I use Mobil 1. For the SST you MUST use Diaqueen SSTF-1 or Castrol Transmaxx Dual, anything else will wear out the components much faster and eventually break your transmission. For the transfer case and diffs just stick with OEM, it's cheap enough.

You probably have another 40,000km in it before you should have the engine inspected. Sorry I didn't answer sooner, I don't check the channel very often.
Quickest way to 300 is to do a Evo X turbo swap. Exhaust manifold, turbo, downpipe, oil/coolant lines and intake. You can go all OEM if you can find the parts second hand. This would be the most cost-effective option as there are plenty of OEM parts around. Also have it tuned by either Kozmic if you're in the states or SJL if you're in Canada.

A Ralliart is the best purchase you can make if you go through all four seasons and need something practical that will never let you down. The Lancer Ralliart shares the same engine with the Evolution, so yes, it has a turbo albeit smaller than the one found on the latter. A good set of snow tires and it will get you anywhere you need to go during winter. Not many know this but the Lancer Ralliart uses the exact same drivetrain as the Evolution IX, just paired with a dual clutch transmission.
I wouldn't, no. They are becoming more rarer and older, thus having higher mileage and also more than likely haven't been maintained properly (always an odd one out there that has been cared for and is in good shape, but definitely a needle in the haystack). Not to mention the higher costs of maintaining and servicing of the AWD system (SST, front transfer case, rear differential, etc). If you're willing and have the funds to do so, I won't dissuade you since I went in the same way, without a single thread of knowledge about the platform. There is a plethora of information out there in forums and Facebook groups that can help as well.

Do you think this is a good first car? I am currently looking for one of these and found a 2011 model with 105k miles on it. But, I have heard that these aren’t reliable and my parents don’t want me to get one because of that. I am just curious of what you think or should I start looking for a different car?
For a first car I don't recommend it, they are expensive to maintain and as for reliability they are bulletproof ONLY if they were taken care of by previous owner(s). I'm currently at 130,000km with no major issues except for the accessory belt auto tensioner which failed. In my opinion, buy a Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ, probably the best first car out there, make sure you get a manual.
That's high mileage for a Ralliart, if it has service records, go over them to make sure it has had regular SST fluid changes with OEM Diaqueen. Depending on the body condition as well, and if it has the leather Recaro seats, navigation, etc. I would say $8000 is what it is worth.
With an Evo X turbo and supporting mods you could see over 400whp. My turbo is a modified TD04, so stock frame and it's been retuned recently to 330whp. With fueling mods I could get close to 400whp as well.
@@torontotuners8218 the stock td04 turbo comes stock with ralliart right ? I’m thinking if I should buy a upgraded X turbo but not the stock one or jus upgrade my 2011 stock rally turbo !?
Yes, all 2009+ Ralliarts come with the same engine as the Evo just with a TD04 turbo instead of the TD05. It all comes down to what you want, upgraded TD04 will only get you so far for power but will have incredible low to mid range. Going larger turbo, such as the TD05, is a great and cost effective option for more power since a they are easily purchasable second hand.
Ultimate Racing's downpipe is 4 inches I believe and from there back is 3.5 inches. Very nice exhaust but they use steel flanges which is the only downside.
The aluminum hood is actually very light, similar weight to a carbon fiber hood. The dampers were meant to eliminate the factory hood prop since it gets in my way when I'm working on my car.

@@torontotuners8218 what is wot? after you reached the end of 3rd gear you let the rpms go down without shifting and gas, for me the engine runs dry in this moment and for old 2 Stroke bikes its a total killer and i think for the car it isnt also good bcs running on high rpm without gas is never good bcs gas gives cooling
Wide open throttle, and I understand what you meant now. No, because of the increased load of shifting at such a high RPM, it is much better and safer to just let off the gas. No gas = no power being sent to the wheels. As far as I know, two stroke motors are very different from modern day engines.
@@torontotuners8218 i dont know i never do this in my 200sx, i would feel bad if i do, i always push the clutch when i dont want to shift in next gear with high rpm, the gasolin also lubricates the part of your cylinder wall which the oil cant reach, and with no gas its running to dry when it goes with the high rpm connected to the transmission. Sorry for my english and good night from Germany Nice Car btw
Ah, its different because you're driving a manual, pushing in the clutch is the right thing to do. My car doesn't have a clutch pedal, it is a dual clutch transmission, so basically when I lift off the gas it disengages the clutches.
Sorry, but you are absolutely wrong. The only parts of the SST that are prone to failure are the shift fork magnets and sensors, which should have been a warranty replacement that Mitsubishi should have covered since it was a costly fix for the owner. I never had a single issue with my SST, I only serviced it with OEM fluid, and it is still holding strong at 120,000km+, pushing a custom tune with over 300 torque to the wheels. The SST failures you hear about are the owners who use the completely wrong fluid, don't let it warm up properly before spirited driving, and complain when it fails on them, pouting that it's the car's fault and not theirs. The SST as a gearbox is very strong, as long as it is maintained and tuned CORRECTLY.
@@torontotuners8218 I’m absolutely right. Like I said “Minor mods” 300 torque is very minor mods. You obviously didn’t understand my comment. Those are all part of the sst trans and like you said costly to fix. It’s just the facts that the sst is much weaker than the 5 speed trans and if you’re going make decent power the sst is going to be more costly. If you just want to do full exhaust, intake and a tune then sst is fine but start doing more power mods and you will run in to issues.
Yes, when it comes to handling torque the 5 speed is stronger than the SST, but that doesn't mean the SST isn't strong either. I believe the SST is rated to handle around 400 until slippage and gear lockout begins. You have to remember for it's time (2007), the SST was very advanced and new technology for a mass produced vehicle. For what it is, it's an incredible transmission, performing shifts in milliseconds especially if it's been properly tuned to maximize it's potential. It has its faults sure, but to call it weak is ignorant.
I should also mention having a competent tuner and tune makes all the difference. I never made a video on it, but I ended up having ID1050x's, a larger fuel pump (can't remember the displacement), and a new tune installed on my Ralliart prior to selling it. It was making serious power, and even after selling it, the new owner (who happens to be the guy who tuned it), went over the tune again and made even more power. Throwing mods at a Ralliart or Evo with the SST will make it worse without having the proper tune to tie it all together.
@@torontotuners8218 Having a good tune is with any car. Like I said if you want to stay under 400hp, which is minor mods then it’s fine but again it’s not strong compared to the 5speed. My point still stands.
I'll be making a video on this soon enough but the short answer is that it's not worth it. I've made my Ralliart much MUCH faster than an Evo at a fraction of the cost. Also, reclinable rear seats, which the Evo doesn't have, it has saved me on numerous occasions. The Ralliart is an all around better daily driver, even the AWD system is better suited for the street than the Evo's. Watch the video comparing the two, it's very surprising. If I wanted a track car I would 100% build an Evo because that is what it's meant for.

It is not, the downpipe flange for TD05 turbo in the Evo is different than the TD04 turbo in the Ralliart.
Where did you get that dash mat? I want one!!!!
Got lucky with a used one. Just have to keep your eyes open for one!
I think its time for an update video since u just got her back from Nick!!
It's coming! Weather hasn't been the best and I've been super busy.
@@torontotuners8218 whenever ur ready! No rush at all im excited 🔥
Nice ride bro!
What’s the tires size and wheel specs if you don’t mind me asking?
Thank you! Much appreciated! Wheels are Advan TC3's and tires are 245/45/18!
Whats the wheel specs? 18x8.5 +38 offset?
My ralliart didn’t come with recaro seats 😢
That's a shame! The Recaro seats are truly wonderful, bolstered very nicely and still comfortable for daily driving, and they're heated!
where did u get your RA dash carpet/mat?
I picked it up used! They are really nice and just gotta keep your eyes open for one for sale!
how much did this car initially cost you ? I want to get this 14’ ralliart with 71k mileage but i want to know if im being overcharged
That's high mileage for a Ralliart, if it has service records, go over them to make sure it has had regular SST fluid changes with OEM Diaqueen. Depending on the body condition as well, and if it has the leather Recaro seats, navigation, etc. I would say $8000 is what it is worth.
@@torontotuners8218 i might buy an 09 ralliart with 129k miles, what do you think?
@Toronto Tuners its pretty much stock
@@torontotuners8218 thank you
Favorite car very rare
Wow , i want to have lancer Evolution X
What turbo for 400 hp, my ralliart is with evo x turbo (turbo hybrid)
Are the seats powered or no?
They are not, but they are heated! A real life saver in cold conditions.
2.5 exhaust or 3inch?
Ultimate Racing's downpipe is 4 inches I believe and from there back is 3.5 inches. Very nice exhaust but they use steel flanges which is the only downside.
What paint is that?
Cosmic blue
Where i can find the dash mat
They are rare, I got mine used and I don't think you can purchase them online but I could be mistaken.
Hood dampers to make opening the bonnet so much easier? Because the aluminium Bonnet is far too heavy to lift for........ well....... anyone!!!
The aluminum hood is actually very light, similar weight to a carbon fiber hood. The dampers were meant to eliminate the factory hood prop since it gets in my way when I'm working on my car.
I’m from Ontario to where did you get your tune Dyno ? Or road tune
It was a custom tune done by Silvertuned Performance at SJL Custom Auto in Barrie.
@@torontotuners8218 these are the go to guys for sst stuff, my buddy just had his MR tuned by them and holy fuck. they have a nice turbo upgrade for the ralliart and are coming out with one for the evo
@@torontotuners8218 plus Nick and Steve are great guys
Nick was actually the guy who convinced me to buy my Ralliart back when he worked for Mitsubishi. Such a great and knowledgeable guy, so glad to know him.
Toronto Tuners thats awesome, they’re great guys and awesome builders. My same friend mentioned above just made 328awhp and 358tq from Nicks tune. More or less stock MR.
If anyone gets an SST and are nearby barrie ontario. SJL anyday of the week.
why does everyone like the evo wing i for one think the base model wing looks way better
I've switched between them a couple times and I know what you mean. I really like the low rise wing but the high rise looks just as good!
link for the brakes anyone
hey im tryna change my brakes and calipers like yours do you have any links by chance?
No videos about that yet! There are plenty of how-to's on RUclips that cover it already. I will be changing my rear brakes to Brembo calipers soon so be sure to watch that video when it comes out!
You should lower it
It's on springs now! A new video with a modifications update will be coming soon!
I am looking for a ralliart/evo to buy. Anyone who knows anyone thats selling or where its a good place to look for them, please let me know. I am from Australia Queensland
You're better off using a website that compiles cars for sale around you. Get in touch with AK Racing, they are the go to guys for Ralliarts/Evos in Australia.
shift up when you speed up and dont let it roll out in the gear you been, i can hear the poor engine..
I don't quite understand, are you talking about when I went WOT? If so, there is nothing wrong in doing that.
Sorry for my english and good night from Germany
Nice Car btw
Ah, its different because you're driving a manual, pushing in the clutch is the right thing to do. My car doesn't have a clutch pedal, it is a dual clutch transmission, so basically when I lift off the gas it disengages the clutches.
Lmao dude the sst is not strong, it’ll hold up ok with minor mods but anything more and it’s a ticking time bomb.
Why not just buy an evo for what you spent? Lol
This guy went a totally wrong way with his car he doesn't know anything.i have the same car 2015 rallart I got 400hp stock turbo.ask me I have the best mechanical person on my car.ps just ask if you want to know my mods
