  • We have achieved a significant mycological milestone in culturing 100 strains of Agarikon - by far the largest culture collection in the world. We are doing full genome sequencing on each strain. We are excited to do comparative analyses genetically as well as medicinally.
This achievement is because of the great contributions of many friends in our myco orbit. A big shout out to our research team at Fungi Prefecti, LLC whose sustained, decades long efforts, amassed this amazing culture library.
Deep gratitude to them and to all of you that walk this mycelial path with us!
    And…. Deep Gratitude to Nature ! 🖖
    Happy new year!

I don't even know the extent of the many, deep "whys", but I do feel very grateful to you, thank you Paul.

Thank you Paul!! You’re an inspiration in many ways.
Love the work you do for the bees also. I’ve tried to fallow your lead and help them out myself. Much love.
    Happy New Year!! 🎉

Congrats Paul. Hopefully you will find a super-strain that will lead to new medicine. Many are suffering from chronic bartonella infections from ticks and we need better treatment options.

Although I trust Paul's identification that that's a rotten Doug Fir it's using as a substrate, Fir trees (at least the ones here in Montana) never maintain a trunk that straight and linear when they become that size. I immediately thought it was a Redwood or some type of Cedar variety. But again, I trust Paul. Shelf fungii is cool stuff!!

Here in Northern California fir trees are gigantic and most of the time very straight and tall similar to redwoods. Most loging operations here focus on Doug firs and redwoods because of that.

Unreal timing. two weeks ago I discovered a colony of agarikon on a fallen doug fir tree here on southern vancouver island. There are 8 that I can count in various stages of growth from dead to half dead and three still living with healthy white bottoms. half are the stacked pancake form and the others are cloud formation type like you show. I would like to help with your preservation efforts. How do I touch bases...

    Hello Paul!!
Thank you for all you do!!!
I often wonder what your take is on the way farmers spray everything green with poison and add antifungal agents to the soil. I think itz screwing up the natural water cycle and ruining fungi that would naturally act as a filter.

@@spanqueluv9er How wrong you are. My entire family cares about it. We still own the property, still hunt and fish from it and still enjoy the wild mushrooms, berries and edible plants. Ate a wild turkey I shot myself with wild mushroom stuffing this last Thanksgiving.
